Strange dialog errors

Have you ever noticed any strange and bizzare dialog errors in Star Trek? Or lines you thought had an error in it but are actually correct..

for example: During Man Trap Uhura says to one guy "You´re Suaheli!"...."uhm...nope, the guy isn´t a language..." was my first thought...but its actually the name for the people speaking it too.

Don't remember that one, but last night i rewatched Shore Leave and for the first time noticed that McCoy, when talking to Rodriguez over the communicator calls him Esteban (unless Rodriguez's first name is Esteban, however, i am pretty he was using the pronounciation was for the last name)....im sure this is one everyone has caught before, but it was my first time!

I actually didn't even realize it until you just mentioned it. Now, I'm watching it to see for myself.

Huh...

Well, learn something new everyday I suppose.

YR, it's been long known that the guy's full name is Esteban Rodriguez. He's even shown up in novels and fan fiction with that name.

how about Picard's inhuman coughing/laughing in the Naked Now? You know the scene where Beverly wants to jump his bones.

There is the time when Dr. Crusher is talking to Wes in Journey's End about the traveller alien. She calls his home planet Tau Ceti (sp?) when it is established in earlier episodes as Tau Alpha C or something like that. She even says it in Remember Me!

Shatner pronounces "Orion" correctly in "Journey to Babel" (TOS), but calls them "O-ree-ons" in "The Pirates of Orion" (TAS).

Isn't there some scene in TNG where Picard is heading into or out of the ready room with someone and he goes to open his mouth to say something but then the scene cuts?

I remember this distinctly and it made me burst out laughing when I saw it but I cannot for the life of my remember what episode it was.

I am kind of certain it's a season 1 episode, which might explain my unfamiliarity with the scene as I try to avoid most of those episodes like the plague.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Most lines filled with treknobabble sound like errors, but I'm sure they make perfect sense "in universe"

But i have to wonder if that was originally an error on De's part?

Early on in TNG Kahless is pronounced KA-less but then later on it is always pronounced KAY-less. Stupid nit-picky thing but it has always bothered me.
(I'm not too anal, am i?)

In "Shore Leave", when Spock transports down, Sulu says "someone beaming down from the bridge", rather than "someone beaming down from the ship".

Hmm...not sure about that...beaming someone down from the bridge was possible during TOS as far as I know...only not directly....they had to beam the person from the bridge (or other place on the ship) to the transporter room and then to the planet from there...but wasn´t done normally because it was considered dangerous for some reason...(can anybody elaborate on this?)

I have only seen this episode once, and that was when it was aired, but I have a memory of Data calling Geordi "sir" in Code of Honor. It's a scene at the beginning of the episode when they are looking at some artifacts.

I seem to recall something about an actor playing a Cardassian f-ing up the pronunciation of the word "Cardassian"! Think it was that ugly SOB Dolak...

I've heard Klingon pronounced differently at times. Such as in Trouble With Tribbles Bill Campbell says "Kling-In"

In TNG's "Conspiracy":

RIKER: "Increase speed to Warp 6."

GEORDI: "Aye sir. Full impulse."

:cardie:

In "Shore Leave", when Spock transports down, Sulu says "someone beaming down from the bridge", rather than "someone beaming down from the ship".

It looks like this was a Actor/Script Supervisor error. If you lay your hands on the actual shooting script for the episode "Shore Leave," you'll see that the actual line of dialog for Sulu is: "Look. Someone beaming down from the ship." Takei simply misremembered and mis-delivered his scripted lines and the Script Supervisor who should have been on the set listening for such errors didn't notice it and correct him. Hey, George A. Rutter, Script Supervisor on "Shore Leave:" don't think we didn't notice!

As for the "Esteban Rodriguez" issue, McCoy's scripted line is "Rodriguez? What the devil's wrong with communication? Esteban? Esteban!"

So the script has McCoy addressing Lt. Rodriguez by his last name, then as communications break down, by his first name. No error in line delivery on De's part.
