Stop TBS!

I thought you were talking about me at first! :(

The only thing I can say, other than that's what you get for watching The Family Guy, is that these type of "on top of screen" ads are getting more and more common. It reminds me of those Flash ads that pop on top of whatever website you are trying to read, ruining the whole point of visiting the site to begin with.

Companies will get away with as much as they can until people bitch them into stopping.

I can only get the audio for that to work for some reason but it sounds annoying enough. I haven't watched TBS in a long long time though because they butcher their shows and movies so bad I can't stand it. I'm especially sensitive to "time compression". So for me this is just one more reason to keep not watching.

Wow, that's truly god awful. I guess I can't complain about a show having an ad crawl across screen and block your view. At least that doesn't stop it mid-sentence to advertise for something else.

Wow, that manages to make TNN/Spike's TNG ad banners back in the day look like nothing. Good job marketing retards! :wtf:

It's a good thing that TBS barely has anything worth watching, else I might be a bit peeved.

Companies will get away with as much as they can until people bitch them into stopping.

People can bitch all they want. If it doesn't affect their bottom line financially, the companies will keep doing it.

I can't believe I never saw this one coming.
I give up on network tv. Fuck it. I'll watch it on the computer.
People should download rather than put up with this shit.
Yes, I said it.

Good, god. And I thought the ads during shows were bad enough. Now this?! Fucking ridiculous.

I'm normally able to ignore banners along the bottom or top, but stopping the show entirely?!? That's just rediculous. I can't speak for the rest of America, but that is incentive enough for me to stop watching a show or channel.

^That's okay, they can literally have my bow. However, I may need someone with a better weapon cleaning up after me, having not shot in several months and all...

That was pretty cool!

I still remember watching TBS back in 1999 and 2000 when they'd play Jaws or Star Wars every 2 months and they'd be sceduled from 7PM to 10PM....I'd think "What?! Star Wars is only 2 hours???" then I'd realize they had a 5 minute commercial break every 4 minutes.

Wow...that's beyond retarded. This is part of the reason most of my TV catch up time is done either online or via Netflix now. I mean, sure it's just an ep of "Family Guy" that will repeat 1,000x by next week, but the precedent being laid out here is scary.

Ok that explains what I heard the other night..I had Family Guy on but was doing something else and just listening..first I hear Peter Griffen..then Bill Engvall..then Peter again..I didn't bother to look at the set so I was confused as heck as what was going on.

But man is that a stupid move..I hope they get an earful about it.

ive seen this elsewhere, what is odd is that they know what they are doing is wrong, and that viewers wont like it, since the guy apologised in the promo.

it feels like im repeating myself, as i say this so much on other forums, but I plan what im going to watch long in advance of the actual watching, so these ads dont change my mind, and half of my viewing is off a PVR, so even if I wanted to watch the show advertised, I simply couldnt.

thats another odd thing, there is talk of the death of liner TV, and how the PVR is killing it, but this add is useless to those with a PVR, so even bother with it? If liner is dead why are you assuming people are watching the show live, and not off there PVR.
