STO - Nomad Class

I just wanted to post these and see what the reaction was to this STO design.

I think it looks pretty sweet myself, but I've always had a soft spot for sleek curves.

i love it. also, it'd be perfect for this month's art challenge. "what if trilobites had evolved sentience, built a civilization, and developed warp drive?"

Wow. Do you mean to tell me that STO actually created an original ship design instead of ripping off old designs?

I like the forward view. The shape of the hull in that view is very different from contemporary ships, but is kinda reminiscent of the Constitution class. Don't care for the rather pointless and overly thick plating, though.

Apparently, the Nomad class is a variant based around the Emissary class Star Cruiser design and it has Torpedo launchers located to the sides of the Saucer and hull sections instead of pointing directly fore & aft.

So it's a big ship, more in the Sovereign vein, than say Intrepid.

That's like complaining about the wacky hull plating textures in B5. It's pretty much a given that STO ships be utterly innundated with superfluous protrusions.

That said, I offer praise to this design for not being the Dauntless with some chunky boxes taped to the sides.

Here's some screenshots of my Nomad:

In keeping with the mix-and-match customization, I gave it the Vanguard pylons and saucer.

Upcoming changes include changing having one tiny impulse engine on the fantail to two larger ones at the pylon roots and adding a shuttlebay.

Captain Logan is easily the most responsive Dev on the boards.
