STID "tracking" for $85-90 million opening [U.S. box office]

It seems like all the nerds in Japan would have watched a download by now.
I'm sure this is true to some degree, but it does make me feel old! It's clearly a generational thing, but the thought of watching STID via some cruddy download on a PC screen/iPad, or worse, streaming it to a quality monitor, is extremely unappealing to say the least!

Any of you preorder the limited edition bluray set that comes with the 1/1 scale phaser?

IIRC it's only available from Amazon...sells for $80.

2 openings this week, Argentina and Japan in limited release. Following week is full release.

Most of the time we know when a movie opens but do we know when STID will be out of theaters completely? The DVD is less than a few weeks away so I wonder when STID officially closes?

I'm guessing it will be out of theaters before Sept 10th.

Aug 14th gross: $226,927,100

It might hit $227.5 million by then, which will be the final domestic total, barring re-release in IMAX.

No. This is tracking the theatrical box office. DVD sales always go off their own sales tally.

so dvd home sales have their own tally. what would be considered a good number for the home movie sales to reach? what is the time frame for the sales because obviously months from now people will be ordering copies especially with the holidays coming?

Another question I have... Does the second-run market count as well? We have several "dollar" theaters here in town and I'm guessing most larger cities do.. How does that figure in?
