STID "tracking" for $85-90 million opening [U.S. box office]

I don't understand Shyamalan. Being a fellow Indian, it pains me to see someone I thought was very talented just drop off the radar like this.

Anyway, I'm seeing it twice this weekend with two diff groups of folks: a friend who's been avoiding ALL spoilers (she didn't even want to see BC's shower scene ;)) and then my brother and niece. Both times will be at the IMAX.

The foreign take hasn't been updated on BoxOfficeMojo for days and days. There's gotta be some boost there now.

The way this weekend is shaping up, I think STiD will make at least $45-50 million for the 4-day weekend and potentially even as much as $55 million. The strength of the Friday increase will be a good indicator as to what kind of weekend numbers we're looking at. STiD may even be #2 for the weekend, at least the 3-day weekend, depending on how badly Hangover III underperforms.

I have seen it once in IMAX. Plan to see it again very soon. Anyway i did bit calculating and STID has already past NEM and TFF worldwide gross adjusted with inflation. When STID past $200 million mark. It will past TUC and INC very soon..

I would love to see it in IMAX, but it's just not worth the 14 hour (roundtrip) drive.

It was the first time I'd ever seen a movie in 3D, though.

I think they could've just released two hours of Spock and Kirk making out and passed Nemesis (and made a better movie).

I just saw a curious new ad for STID on TV. All about Harrison and his "better"ness. It all but comes out and says his name and shows far more of the Vengeance crash. Someone who hasn't seen the movie turned to me and said "Oh, guess I know who the bad guy is now..."

It seemed like a reactionary ad based off some of the negative word of mouth about unnecessarily obfuscating the villain and belays some panic about Memorial Day Weekend movie traffic.

I know I'm seeing it tomorrow, so I'll be curious to see what the traffic is like.
