Continuing the trend, it looks like STiD could beat 09 in China by 400-500 percent

Trek also made $2.7m in China today as well. No idea if that is good or bad so let's assume good :)

Maybe we will get a $20-30m dollar overseas week?

According to BOM, Star Trek '09 made 8.6M total in China, so I would say that is very good.

OK. So we are at $102,100,000 overseas at the moment.

If I add all of Star Trek 2009 totals from the countries STID is yet to open in + $35m from CHINA (Might not get that much, but lets be optimistic!)

$102m is the total so far.
$30m to come from those countries that have already opened (guess, might be way off)
$35m from CHINA (might happen now!)
$35m from countries yet to open, at ST09 levels.

$202m total

---------------

Now lets assume the gross from the other opening countries excluding China increases from ST09 by:

30% increase = $45m - $212m Total
50% increase = $52m - $219m
80% increase = $62m - $229m
100% increase = $70m - $237m

So I think at the moment the range for the overseas total is between $195-$240m and WW total of between $415-$480m

Also I believe the marketing in SE Asia focuses more on Benedict Cumberbatch. If Trek makes big $$$ from SE Asia I bet Cumberbatch will be back in the next one.

Sophisticated British men are a "thing" for Korean and Japanese women in the same way "tall, dark, and handsome" is in the US. I have no doubt Cumby has initiated a few "squwees!" here and there.

OK, finally saw the movie and contributed my $17 to the boxoffice totals (damn, the movie prices are getting high!). Hell of a movie though.

I would agree that US$30m more from the countries it has already opened in is low.

i.e. Box Office Mojo figure for the UK = US$12.95m

UK Box office upto the 26th May = GB£19.42m = US$29.1m Which means the UK alone will have added something like US$17m

BoxOffice.com is reporting $261,552,337 worldwide gross as of 28th.

The film opened in China with 25m CNY on its opening day (that's $4.04 million. The total Chinese box office for the same day was 11 million, so STID took a sizeable percentage.) The Chinese are predicting it will take in $25m in the first week.

I wonder if a Star Wars movie runs during Summer 2016 if they'll push Trek to the holidays?

They might, because there will be a Star Wars movie in the summer of 2016. It's been widely reported that there will be one each year starting 2015.

I'm still sticking with a $18-20 Million Sat-Su,. mainly because there are no "must-see" releases and Epic and TH3 are not much competition, and STID's word of mouth is winning the day.

^^^
Star Trek made $17 million on the Sat-Sun of its third weekend, and that was with the inflated business of Memorial Day weekend. $18-20 million for Sat-Sun for STiD on a regular weekend would be a Herculean task. I think it'll make $18-21 million for the full Friday-to-Sunday weekend.
