Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle

Bob The Skutter

Complete Arse Cleft
In Memoriam
BBC Two will soon be showing Stewart Lee's new show. The BBC haven't given an airdate yet, just sometime between 14th and 20th of March, but I'm looking forward to it.

Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle Ep 1/6

Unplaced
Day and time to be confirmed BBC TWO

"What does it say about our culture that the word toilet can be appended to the word 'book' to form the compound word toilet book? Toilet seat, yes. Toilet paper, yes. Toilet duck – you can even have toilet duck. But toilet book – surely not?"
Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle marks the return to television of one of the finest stand-ups working in Britain today. Each of the six episodes sees Stewart exploring a different theme in a stand-up routine, illustrated with sketches featuring an ensemble cast.
In the first episode of this new series, Stewart looks at the phenomenon of toilet books. Where did they come from? And why? For some reason, someone, somewhere, thought history, fiction, poetry and the like weren't enough any more, and so they invented celebrity hardbacks, tragic lives and Dan Brown. Stewart takes a look at some of this new lavatory literature, including works by Asher D and Paddy McGinty's Goat, and finds out what would happen if Dan Brown got a job where he had to break bad news.
Starring alongside Stewart are: Tony Law, Tara Flynn, Paul Putner, Kevin Eldon, Miles Jupp, Simon Munnery, Job Angus and Michael Redmond. Peter Serafinowicz provides the voiceover.

I can't wait for this! I've been a huge fan since the early 90's (Anyone remember Lionel Nimrod's Inexplicable World Of...?) so I hope it'll be a good 'un.

:D

You know what you want dont you...The moon on a Stick!!!...the moon on a stick....

Fist of fun and Lee and Herring......

I think I became a fan with This Morning with Richard Not Judy, so I can't wait for this

Ah, I remember him from ages ago, when he did that show with the pumpkin that spoke like a Dalek. I remember liking it, so I hope my memory isn't failing me now.

Ah, the tangerine on steroids

All we need now is for Vids to come back and I'll be happy. I cherish the tape I made of Godzilla that Stef and Nige introduced for C4 yonks ago.

Fucking hell, I remember Vids - that mad Welsh fucker was mental!

I think I have vague recollections of that too, from waiting up for the stupid times Channel 4 used to put B5 on.

The Welsh guy reviewed SF and Fantasy films for the Sci-Fi channel in the UK for a while, not as good as the duo but still above everything else they showed (did Sci-Fi show "Out There"?)

I finally got round to watching Stewart Lee: Stand up Comedian last night. I really should get 90s Comedian and 41st Best Stand Up Ever

This was on tonight... and I frakking forgot all about it!

But thanks to BBC iPlayer I shall watch it now :)

I'll join you two in the self-recrimminys. iPlayer, however, is my friend.

:D

Watching now, takes the piss out of Russell Brand and Dan Brown within the first minute and a half.
 I love it already!

For me this swung wildly between funny and well observed & pompus and funny as watching paint drying, probably about fifty/fifty. I did like his piss take on Dan Brown (especially the Dan Brown writing case notes for child protections cases) but to be honest he is so far up his own backside he's kinda hard to like...

Richard Herring is funnier
