Steve Forrest is dead.

Grant

Commodore
Commodore
Actor steve Forrest best known from S.W.A.T. died May 18 at the age of 87.

Genre fans will remember him from the hour long Twilight Zone episode, "Parallels" and the Night Gallery episode "Waiting Room"

Rest in peace, to a classic, all-American, square jawed actor from the 1960s and 70s.

For western buffs, he'll be remembered as the vile Manon on GUNSMOKE, who pistol-whipped Sam the bartender, shoots Festus, then rapes Miss Kitty (does he shoot her in the back too?)

I think he was the basis for the villain described at the beginning of ROMANCING THE STONE, he did everything but shoot pet dogs in this episode.

But I guess he was compensating for not being endowed. Kitty sez something like "you're not half the man Matt Dillon is" and I'm assuming she isn't referring to his hat size.

Bill Mumy posted this moving tribute to Steve, out on Facebook yesterday.
Wow... I just this minute heard that Steve Forrest passed away five days ago... I absolutely loved working with him. He played my dad twice, first in a western tv drama called "Wide Country" and then in the Disney feature film, "Rascal". He was a terrific actor and a straight up good guy. RIP, Steve. Thanks for making me feel so comfortable as your "son".
