Stephen Fry to join 'Holmes' sequel

He's already been Sherlock Holmes for the BBC. But I think he suits Mycroft better.

But Mark Gatiss from BBC's Sherlock is going to take some beating!

Stephen Fry was pretty much a shoo-in for the role of Mycroft :D I think there's a possibility of seeing him quite a bit in it, as according to the mythos, Mycroft works with the government and has connections with the Queen, so he'd likely be giving him a case on her behalf.

I would have liked Fry to played a villain.
But I'm happy to see him acting again, Could never get into that ITV show that I have just forgotten the name to.

OK, I can see this thread going WAY off topic so let me just say that Mr Fry is no fan of religion, even less of the Catholic Church and probably even less of Catholic clergy, and I found some of his comments regarding Pope Benedict's recent UK visit to be insulting and personally offensive. Aside from that, I'm not a fan of him generally hence my original .

Over here in the UK, he is well-nigh impossible to get away from, especially recently so knowing he's going to be in a movie I was looking forward to is annoying for me.

We now return you to your planned discussion.

Kind of funny that I just saw this thread. I had no idea who the guy was until I watched V for Vendetta on Saturday night. I thought he lent that film a bit of needed humanity...of course, the satire bit was also awesome.

To let the presence of one actor in a film deter you from seeing it seems precipitous, unless we have confirmation that he'll be a significant part of the film.

Anyway, given the actor's background is it any surprise that he would have signed that letter?

But anyway...
