People do a lot of stupid things. Hopefully after this at least a few of them will grow a brain.
I don't think I've ever pre-ordered a game. And I don't think I've ever gone for collector's editions either, as games are expensive enough as it is.
I have a few CEs from games where I really wanted the goodies. That's pretty rare, though.
I've only bought one game I wished I could return on Steam. Civilization: Beyond Earth isn't fun and crashes constantly. They refused a refund because I had 3 hours logged, which if you've played Civilization you know isn't even enough to have played one game.
Given that I have something like 80 games (about half from humble bundles) worth well over a thousand dollars and paid probably closer to $250 for all of them, I can live with it.
