Steam down????? I've never had that happen before

Steam is down for some users, along with online APIs for Valve's multiplayer games.

Yeah noticed that too just now when I wanted to get a game with a gift card I got for Christmas. I had just assumed it was down because so many other people wanted to do the exact same thing :-P

Checking DownDetector.com. AWS and all related gaming services seem to be under attack… again. Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, and a number of specific games like Fortnite, Minecraft, HALO, etc. All experiencing timeouts and outages while trying to log in.

I can’t stand how, every time Amazon sneezes, the whole fucking internet gets a cold.

It's fucking stupid how so many services and providers are reliant on AWS services, yeah that's shitty

DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attacks happen to many Service Providers from time to time - depending on the group and their reasons - be it 'just because' or because a provider did something the group did like, etc.
