I'm a little surprised at how close their Ultraman design is to the original. Their Godzilla was highly revisionist.
Ultraman is more stretched out and looks more like an alien that would show up in "The Day the earth stood still". Apparently they're doing Ultraman through CGI. No "man in suit" like it is traditionally done
With the "shin" aspect of this version I was expecting something a little more mysterious/horrifying similar to how we saw Shin Godzilla. A more "gritty" "realistic" approach.
I didn't feel that with the trailer which is good IMO. Looks like good old Ultraman fighting giant monsters.

It seems like every "Shin" movie reboot is less gritty than the previous one, if you also count the R-rated Shin Kamen Rider from the early '90s.
While it doesn't look gritty, it certainly looks more realistic in its portrayal of the humans and their technology.
