Hey, just checked StarTrek.com to see if the giant pink tribble was still sitting on Kirk's chair, and lo and behold, they've cleaned up the site and are actually linking to Trekbbs!?

Yeah, I especially love the link to the site for Abrams' movie, referring to it as "Star Trek the movie". As if there never was a Star Trek feature film before.

somehow, I know I'm going to regret this...

Matt, you know there was a TV series and a movie both called M*A*S*H, right? How would you distinguish between the two of them?

Its kinda of sad that the official site can't even report its own news. I guess fan sites are always better than the official thing. I only go to StarTrek.com for the Trek Life.

You do know they did a movie called Star Trek: The Motion Picture, right?

Same old links, different format.

Except for their cop out by having Trek Today supply their "news".

CBS assassinated and destroyed Star Trek.Com.

They will never recover from their sorry backhanded treatment of the staff they just walked in and fired point blank.

StarTrek.Com is dead.

I've been a member of StarTrek.Com since the days of MSN dial up. all but one year of it's entire existence.

I keep saying it. People pulling Star Trek related merchandise, and media (Experience anyone?) are gonna get a rude awakening next year when 'Star Trek' becomes a suprise hit.

Star Trek (1966)
Star Trek (1973)
Star Trek: The Motion Picture
Star Trek (2009)

What do you call Star Trek, Star Trek, and Star Trek? There are three Star Trek's with no formal sub-title. How do you tell which is which?

The '66, '73, and '09 versions all need informal subtitles.

You don't like Trektoday news? *grr*

(I write it.) ;) :D

lol, I like Trektoday news! :) I agree with those still bitter over the way they handled the good people at StarTrek.com, that really sucked. It was typical of CBS though.

I hear they even hired a moderator for the forums. I think the person doing it has a 3 day response time. The other duties for that person is Dell customer support and calling CitiBank credit card holders to sell them identity theft insurance.

'73? Say what? Did I miss something for the last 35 years?

That having been asked, us B5 fans never had a problem telling the difference between Zathras and Zathras.

The "Star Trek 1973" is TAS (The Animated Series).

Well, then it's a good thing they're calling the new one Star Trek the movie, instead of Star Trek the motion picture, right? Wouldn't that make heads explode.

That's different from Star Trek the Movie which btw isn't even the title. The title of the new film is just Star Trek.

Ah, but if they decided to call it M*A*S*H: The Motion Picture then we'd all be really confused.
