Ok, though I'm not fond of the way these discussions go, after public demand I'll post these.

Knock yourselves out :p

Wait a minute; isn't that the size comparison that fan rumors claim Abrams hated so much that it got one guy fired? What's it doing on the Blu-ray? :shifty:

Well hang on, that make the Kelvin bigger than the original Constitution class. Which seems silly to me.

Bah, what do I know. I'm just a Star Trek fan.

Plus the fact that it was supposed to be the same timeline untill the moment Nero messed things up?

No point fretting about it. All you can do is laugh and ignore it. After all, there are plenty of other glaring inconsistencies in Trek with which we're forced to do the same...

Actually, I kinda disagree with myself; the Kelvin was pretty good. That's it though.

There is nothing, NOTHING in Trek (outside a few closed-minded technophiles heads) that says bigger ships couldn't have predated the TOS Enterprise. Really.

Let the Enterprise Size War begin anew!!!

And I thought the ship designs were great.

Hooray.

Maybe now the 'the ship is 300 metres long' brigade will shut up. Anyone who saw the ship under contruction and STILL thought that that looked 300 metres, needs to have their eyes (and head) examined. Official stats say it's ~700 metres, the Art of Star Trek says it's ~700 metres, on screen evidence points to it being ~700 metres.

For some it's now time to accept it.

Well I still think it's 300 meters long.

I swear to God, in Trek XII Scotty better turn towards the camera, look right at the audience and say the ship is 700 meters.

I can see the future...

"Look, I don't care what Scotty said...there's no way it's that big...and I will demonstrate how!"

You know it to be true.

:D

Well, old Bernd threw in the towel and declared the movie to be a new continuity unto itself. He still insists that it's tiny, though.
