Starship Size Comparison Chart

Where would Admiral Marcus' ship in terms of size fit up against some of the others? I didn't find it either?

I noticed nothing from "Firefly", though to be fair the Firefly itself is probably a whtie dot in that poster. But the Alliance tower cruiser is big.

Unless I missed it, I also don't see anything from "2001: A Space Odyssey".

The Liberator is also missing.

Yeah I've just made my eyes sore trying to spot it and Scorpio. I mean FFS the chart has the ship from fucking Hyperdrive on it, how can it not have the Liberator!

I much prefer this site.

It's a lot easier to compare sizes, since they are not all on one massive poster, and organized by size.

If you employ Internet Explorer, you can even move the objects around the screen for more direct comparisons.

I tend to get silly and scoot around Godzilla to have him "attack" various ships.

Sincerely,

Bill

What else was missing? I don't recall seeing the "Galaxy Guest" ship (for goodness sakes, we got the Red Dwarf), the Roddenbury "Andromeda" ship, the ship from the World's Fare in "Men in Black", maybe more that I am not recalling.

Again I ask... Where is the TARDIS? Should be the biggest and smallest at the same time!

I feel like the TARDIS is in there somewhere, but much less popular Doctor Who vessels are definitely in this chart.

The Protector from Galaxy Quest is underneath the Lexx.

I'm willing to bet that the majority of ships listed as "missing" in this thread are indeed in the picture, but I'm at work right now and really should do more productive things with my time :)

You could coat a planet in that much metal, and it would probably be as practical, and ugly, as most of them.

It's in there, labeled "Dreadnaught" class, below the "Odyssey" class.

Yeah, I saw they had the Vengeance, but I'm having a hard time spotting the JJprise itself. It's got to be there somewhere... right?

The Protector from Galaxy Quest is underneath the Lexx.

And the Andromeda Ascendant is nearby, above the ID4 City Destroyer Invasion Mothership, underneath the fore of Red Dwarf. It's labelled by its class, Glorious Heritage Class.

Unless I missed it, I also don't see anything from "2001: A Space Odyssey".

Turns out the Discovery is in that area too, underneath Lexx, between the ship from Silent Running and Axiom.

They've even got the Nimbus from Futurama! (And I got a chuckle out of the notation for the size of the Heart of Gold...)

I don't recognize some of the series titles. I'm guessing they're from video games?

Somehow the Federation starships look relatively tiny compared to other ships like the Star Destroyer.

The smaller ships in Trek like the Constitution, the D-7, etc. are about the same size as real ships. Obviously they're a lot smaller in volume.

I think that the Star Destroyer, for one, has to be so huge because it's partly used to hold an entire army.
But yeah, some of these ships would have serious manpower issues. I think it's just an appeal to gigantism in most cases.

Yeah, we need a chart finder. Maybe break it up into four quandrants with a list of what is in each, and have number/letter finders, like: quandrant one, A8.

I've noticed one of the ships looks like the Visitors Mothership from the 1980s series "V."

Edit:

Oh, never mind. That is the V Mothership.
