An outdated graphic I'm afraid. All the info is pulled from the old Joseph technical manual I believe (basically copy-pasted without care I assume), and the orthos of the Enterprise is that of the John Eaves design before the CG guys tweaked it (most noticeable difference is the orthos has straight pylons still).

Besides, based on what we see on screen there is no way the TOS Enterprise is only 288m long.

It was definitely an onscreen graphic but there were too many discrepancies for it to be the Enterprise currently floating off Discovery's starboard bough.

I have the same attitude to the graphic shown in Day Of The Dove - that drawing of the Federation starship next to the Klingon cruiser is not the Enterprise, the saucer is wrong for a start!

Those were numbers from the old Star Fleet Technical Manual, and the proportions don't match the Discoprise, which is much flatter than the original.

The length was in "Federation Meters" but the height was in "Earth Meters."

    I know, I know, I'm sorry.

Obviously with modern Trek, Bigger is Better... Whether it be Length or Girth.
    (or both) ;)

It's the motion of the warp bubble that matters.

I'm no expert on this. EAS and Eaglemoss reckon the Relativity is small, around 150m. Based on the hull/window ratio.
In STO, where the screenshot was taken from, the Relativity is a medium-sized science vessel.
For such a small ship with a dedicated mission, it could explain why the first officer was a lowly science lieutenant instead of a commander or lieutenant commander.

Edit: Here's that image, proper: https://memory-beta.fandom.com/wiki/USS_Pastak?file=Enterprise-C_and_Pastak.jpg

Based on the size of the windows, the Relativity is a very small ship.

We either have to scale all pre discovery ships up, or scale all post discovery ships down

Okay, let's pretend we do either of those.
    What do we achieve?

We have consistent relative ship sizes either way

According to Memory-Alpha regarding the Wells Class

"The scale included on Sternbach's design schematics indicates an overall length of approximately 640 feet (195 meters)"

The sketch doesn't have windows though.

We don't have to do either

Not sure I'd say very. Relatively small maybe...

So, uh, my coats just over there. I'll go and fetch it
