Hi.
As part of the agreement signed earlier this year between ADB and Mongoose, the latter are workiing on a series of new miniatures; which ADB refer to as Starline 2500. (The current metal mini line is Starline 2400; the new minis will be a slightly bigger scale, and will likely be in resin.)
The intent of these minis is to help promote one of the other new aspects of the Mongoose deal; the soon-to-be-released A Call to Arms: Star Fleet (a Star Fleet Universe adaptation of the same ACtA game engine Mongoose have previously used for Babylon 5 and Noble Armada adaptations). Of course, it will also be compatible with ADB's pre-existing tabletop games, such as Star Fleet Battles and Federation Commander.
In terms of development, the way it's been going is that Mongoose have artists working on the 3D moulds, which ADB have to sign off on before they get put into casting. Fortunately, ADB have been pretty open about the design process; on this section of their BBS, you can see threads for some of the WIP minis that have already been worked on. (They are taking feedback on the designs, to make sure they are well recieved by the established fanbase before they move forward on them.)
Two designs I might particularly point to as promising signs to come might be the WIP Federation CA (to give an example of a ship with a TV/Franz Joseph design legacy) and the WIP Romulan Sparrowhawk (One of the "new" hulls created for use in the Star Fleet Universe itself).
