Stargate Infinity: Canon?

Official word is that Stargate Infinity is non-canon, but having finally watched it from beginning to end (it's not great), I don't see why it can't fit in as the future of the SG1 universe. Draga isn't ever confirmed to be an Ancient so that's not the big continuity breaker people say it is.

The USAF adopt weird armoured outfits, emo teen haircuts and face/head tattoos become the rage circa 2030. It fits into the continuity just fine, even if it's a bit crap.

Opinions?

I keep seeing stuff like this in speculative fiction set in the near future. As often as not, I find it frustrating, because the creators have this potentially great sense of future-fashion, or evolution of slang that ends up falling flat because the evolution happens too quickly to make sense. New slang terms arise every day, but they don't supplant the old ones for decades, or sometimes at all, depending on the prevalence of the original terms. Fashion is a little more sensible, as new ideas crop up and inform other ideas, even if they don't stick, but the idea that some fashions will arise in the next decade or less is still iffy.

Leave it non-canon. I don't care if it can be twisted into continuity with minimum fuss, Infinity has no place within the Stargate Canon.

It's a pity that Infinity has probably soured MGM on the idea of ever doing another Stargate animated series. It would be a good way to bring back familiar characters without too much effort. If it had been as good as the Godzilla series (also based on an Emmerich and Devlin movie) maybe things would have been different.

Aside from the Ancient-issue with the show, in my heard I retconned it as the future of the reality from the episode "Point of View".
