Stargate Continuum

but how did they extract the symbiot through that long, thin, thin, needle, then smash the collection jar and a big fat round go'auld flopped around on the floor before dying?

Maybe the needle expanded to several millimeters once it was in the brain and it was big enough to suck in the symboite.

It utilised transporter technology, the needle penetrated the head and then focused a transporter beam directly at the symbiont and re-materialised it in the jar bit.

I was more bothered by how high they were in the brain when they used to be wrapped around (or alongside, depending on the graphics department's whim) the brainstem. The size didn't seem different. Symbionts have always been shown to atrophy and shrink while inside a host. They only get really long, scaly, and grow those huge fins while they're in a pool or incubating in a Jaffa.

Did anyone besides me notice that the symbiotes looked smaller than in the series?
We only saw one in this movie. They might come in all sizes and shapes like we do. I thought Ba'al looked a bit thick as it flopped around the floor before dying.

IT STILL DOESN'T MAKE IT A TIME MACHINE. :brickwall:

Arg...for godsakes! If we want to get super technical...it's not a MACHINE at all! It's just pieces of wood nailed together with paint splashed on it and lights to make it blink! Then CGI was added to give it that extra special something!! Everyone knows that!!!

HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW SIMPLE SET BUILDING!!!

:p

That's what she said....

:shifty:
