Do you remember this jacket from early 90s? Season 5 of TNG. Also leather jacket. At least a part of it is made of leather.

I hated that jacket. I love the TNG Season 3+ uniforms, they're my second favorite uniforms after the maroon TOS movie uniforms, but I just don't like the look of the weird velvet jacket with grey undershit, and once Picard gets that jacket it feels like its all he wears for the rest of the show.

As for the 25th century uniforms, I think that they're a lame spin off of the far superior Voyager uniforms. I dislike the muted colors, and the weird front fold. They're not the worst Trek uniforms, that title for me still goes to a tie between the TMP pajama uniforms and the horrible Future DSC uniforms, but they feel like a inferior rip off.

Those uniforms were introduced on DS9, fwiw.

I know the 25th century uniforms are trying to be a modernized version of the monster maroons. But I find they only look really good when they are worn unbuttoned like Shaw. Which is a throwback to Picard’s TNG S5 uniform

Otherwise, Voyager uniforms all the way.

They actually remind me the most of the Generations uniforms that were going to be done and were abandoned at the 11th hour. Apparently they were hard to make and fit like crap. The production then had to scramble and use a mix of DS9 uniforms and TNG uniforms. The only two actors who got properly fitted DS9 style jumpsuits were Patrick Stuart and Brent Spiner. Jon Frakes had to use one of Avery Brooks uniforms which is why it fits so badly lol. I think Levar Burton used one of Colm Meanys

You can see them on the Generations action figure toys.

The only problem with the PIC ones is that red and blue are very hard to see. Why not make those as bright as the yellow ones?

It got ringing endorsements from every actor who has worn it, especially Jonathon Frakes, that it was super comfy; not too warm, not too cold. It was just right in how it kept the persons temperature.

Starfleet uniforms are designed to be comfortable in any weather. Lol

I know, but the poll at the top calls them Voyager Uniforms, so I was just going with that. The fact that Voyager kept them for their whole 7 year run probably makes people associate that uniform type with Voyager more then DS9.

Mostly for the TNG Season 1 Spandex uniforms.
They got better over time, especially with the DS9 era & VOY era uniforms.
The casts of both shows would strongly disagree. The early DS9/VOY uniforms were known to give actors "atomic wedgies" and be very tight & uncomfortable around the neck and shoulders.

What about the Dominion War Uniforms?
If you're talking about the ones that first appeared in First Contact, those were said to be more comfortable, but like most sci-fi costumes, they were still designed to look good onscreen more than something that could really be worn all day.

I still find it very unfortunate the Picard season 1 flashbacks could not coordinate with Lower Decks and Prodigy to avoid so many unnecessary uniform changes in the 2380s.

What I would have liked is the PIC regular uniform freshly introduced circa 2399.

with this flashback costume instead as the flag officer variant also freshly introduced circa 2399 because neither strikes me as sufficiently distinct from the VOY uniforms to be separate.

Why do Starfleet change uniforms so frequently? They apparently kept the monster maroon uniforms for decades and now change the design every couple of years.

Why not? They bring in more members, especially in light of their efforts to bring in new members due to the fallout of the Dominion War.

Technically the monster maroons were only around for five years before the TNG uniforms showed up. And they only lasted two seasons before the Season 3 variants arrived, only for the DS9 uniforms to arrive three years after that, only to last five years until the First Contact uniforms to show up, only for the Enterprise uniforms to show up.... you get the picture. In-universe is one thing. But each show/movie every few years is going to tack on a new look from the ship to the costumes. The only real outlier is Voyager, and personally I wish they had had their own spin on uniforms too.
