I just stated, after someone asserted that the cadets are "good-looking", that they are not, particularly the clearly overweight actress.
Anyone who isn't into "body positivity" ideology can clearly see that.
Let's see what the writers will make of that. Is she playing an alien, or is she playing a human and we get stories about how she is one of the best runners (remember Tilly?) or something similar silly.

We will see about that! Time to launch my fan fiction story about the Enterprise-X. It has the TOS saucer section, Enterprise-D secondary Hull and Voyager Nacelles. It goes Warp 15 and can travel in time and has a cloaking device and 200 organic shapeshifting torpedoes.

It's Captain is a former Section 31 agent that is half Q and half Gorn. The job of the ship is to explore a distant galaxy that has never been explored before and is where the Metrons use to live and who when they evolved were replaced by killer robot slavers who dress like Nazi's because John Gill had a grandson who also believed in his ideas and was somehow transported to his distant galaxy and then talked the killer robots into start acting like Nazi's.
