News Starfleet Academy Coming to P+

How about Naren Shankar? Showrunner of the Expanse, executive producer on series like For All Mankind and Farscape, and he even wrote a few Star Trek episodes! Granted one of them was DS9's Babel, but that was actually a good episode and people are all very mean to it.
He wrote TNG's "Force of Nature"... a really bad episode. But I do like "BABEL" more than other people, despite it being not as strong as other season 1 episodes. And he did other good ones on TNG, as well as DS9's "THE QUICKENING (my favorite Bashir episode) and VOY's "HEROES AND DEMONS" (always loved that one).

And he was a Co-Executive Producer for season 2 of FARSCAPE.

He would be a decent choice, if for no other reason than his doing his utmost to keep things as scientifically accurate as production allows.

Three more actors announced:

"Kerrice Brooks (My Old Ass), Bella Shepard (Wolf Pack) and George Hawkins (Tell Me Everything) are set to enroll in Starfleet Academy, joining Holly Hunter and Paul Giamatti in the latest chapter in the Star Trek universe."
I liked Bella Shepherd on Wolf Pack. But i still think this show has the potential to be a disaster.

I’m honestly stunned you didn’t list Farscape first, Farscape One!

Naren Shankar was also the lead writer on "Star Trek: The Next Generation - A Final Unity"

That game sucks.

The game is awesome.

The puzzles may be a bit simple but not other game captured the mood of the show like "A Final Unity".

Besides the core game you can explore a huge part of space and get a 3D ship combat game which was unrivaled until the release of "Bridge Commander".

The dialogue is more like Star Trek than anything we got from NuTrek:

That's crazy he had a deal with Disney between 2021 and 2024 that led to... nada?

He tried to develop two kids-oriented shows for Disney proper, and an adaptation of the popular fantasy series A Court of Thorns and Roses. None of them got off the ground.

Thinking about it more, I wonder if part of the issue with RDM is he feels like he's basically at Kurtzman's level now.

I mean, he doesn't control a notable IP like Star Trek, but he developed Outlander and For All Mankind for Sony, and still serves as EP for both, along with their respective upcoming spinoff shows (Blood of my Blood and Star City).

I realize the guy works in TV, not movies, but as long as they have a contract, maybe he can fix the live-action Spiderverse stuff for them.

What? All the stuff that people hated about Discovery's first season were because of him. He also couldn't stick to a budget. Trek would not have had the resurgence it did, if fuller had stuck around end of story.

No they made lots of changes from his original ideas. Some of them sort of stayed around but where not done to the level of quality he would have done it. I mean how can one not have trust in his ability to do a better show? Wonderfalls, Pushing Daises, and Hannibal were great shows and I have heard good things about American Gods. To me the resume speaks loudly in terms of how good of a job I feel he would have done with the show.

You're absolutely wrong about the changes. Fuller was the one who wanted the redesigned klingons. He was also the one who approved the ship designs and it was solely Bryan fullers decision making that lead to discovery blowing its budget. Fuller was also the one to abruptly leave, a habit he has shown with other series he creates.

Alex kurtzman was who was brought in to fix what Fuller had broke.

The Klingon redesign was Fuller's idea, but Discovery season 1 overall was very different from what Fuller had envisioned.

The core MacGuffin of season 1, spore drive, was not Bryan Fuller's idea.
The mycelial network and fungus spores were about terraforming, not space travel.
Discovery did not spin.
The Tardigrade was supposed to be an intelligent alien crew member.
The design of the bridge and uniforms was more inline with TOS:

The story that Fuller blow the budget is very nebulous.
Fuller was fired in October 2016. They hadn't build the sets nor made the costumes yet.
Principal photography only began on 24 January 2017. After Fuller supposedly blew the budget they still had enough money fly to Jordan to film the desert scene for episode 1?
