Pick a best actor and best actress from trek!
Im going to go with Nana Visitor for best actress. She doesnt look at all like I would have imagined the character, but she totally owns that part. Best of all whatever stupid line they gave her about technobabble would actually sound plausable coming from her. It always felt like she really got what was going on and made it seem real and human, but at the same time had fun with the character. I dont think anyone else in the history of trek made things sound so plausible.
Brent Spiner for best actor. I dont really like him in real life, but he did a kickass job with Data. I remember Will Wheaton wrote in one of his reviews that when they were trying to find someone to play Data's daughter it was incredibly hard because noone could match his subtle performance and mannerisms. Theres nothing about the way that Data moves which is obviously robotic, but something about the way he conducts himself just makes him stand out as not human(oid).
Honourable mention to Kate Mulgrew for doing well with a terribly written character.
