Well, Luke had a long, lost sister...

Though we don't know if the films account for every Skywalker. Also, a new trilogy could be a prequel. Or, in ten years we could be looking at a remake of the original trilogy...

There is some speculation that it is a clone of Yoda.

Meh. Take it with a grain of salt or whatever.

At my worst, I'm only about as serious as a paper cut.

I'm a night owl, so that's pretty much the equivalent of an 8:00 showing for me ;)

That's why I'm seeing it Thursday. Between work and Christmas, I'd be well into the next week before the next opportunity popped up!

I am really hoping that I am not seeing a repeat of season eight of GoT, where the leaks were proven correct. I have heard things tonight and seen things tonight which, unfortunately, suggest that it will be a repeat. At the least, if the leaks are correct, I will get a good laugh at the ridiculousness of it all. God knows, I need a good laugh.

^ The leaks are proving to be accurate.

The difference here, though, is that what Abrams, Chris Terrio, and their collaborators have come up with isn't a betrayal of their audience the way that Game of Thrones Season 8 was.

Not everyone is going to like where this story has gone, but that doesn't make it a bad story.

Might I suggest Knives Out? Lots of great humor and a fun whodunit to boot.

I have seen Knives Out. It is a better film for showcasing Johnson's talents, as both a director and writer, than The Last Jedi.

Another good film for laughs is Jumanji: The Next Level, which I have seen twice.

Whether or not the latest Star Wars film is a betrayal, I believe that is a subjective opinion. The people who I have been listening to would disagree with you DigficWriter.

First reactions are proving to be pretty positive........except for the usual YouTuber crowd that doesn't like anything. A few mixed but a lot of HOLY SHIT and satisfying conclusion tweets......

Then you're listening to the wrong people, suggesting that you're not really open to the idea of this movie being good and want an excuse to dislike it on principle.

^ Unless you've seen more negative reactions than I have, I don't think you can honestly call the initial reception to this film "mixed".

Everything I've seen says that the film has been positively received on the whole, although not universally so (few things are received universally positively).
