Star Wars: The Clone Wars S4

That does look absolutely awesome, but if we have another episode about school dinners again i'm going to be pissed.

Season Four looks like it's going to be awesome. The panel just happened, for some reason (Seth was there due to his upcoming comedy SW series and has joined Clone Wars panels before) Seth Green answered a fan's question regarding Ahsoka Tano's death (yes this fan was under the impression she's going to be killed off) and this is how Seth answered:

Green: We went to George Lucas and Tom Root said "OK, you have Ahsoka Tano on one train, and Order 66 on another, what happens when those trains collide?" George Lucas replied, "I'm not gonna tell you."

Dave Filoni followed that up by saying he has gone through eight different endnigs for Ahsoka...

I took from this that they don't know what to do with yet and George hasn't made up his mind yet.

I followed along on TheForce.net's live blog, and that was the impression I got. And it sounds like this should be an amazing season, with alot to look forward to.

can't wait for this season to start. is this going to be the finale season leading into revenge of the sith? The underwater battle looks awesome.

No. Clone Wars has one hundred episodes planned for a total of five seasons. This has been stated from the start by Lucas. It is unknown yet if there are any plans to continue the series beyond that (I'd say not) they're currently working on season five now.

if it goes only 100 eps I would love them to do the dark times as an animated series if it can't be done as live action.

On some forums it is claimed that they have announced more seasons. However, I haven't seen confirmation in an official source.

I haven't seen or read any confirmation of more seasons announced either. This weekend would be the time to do so if they were doing that. That sounds like just fan speculation or want to me.

I've seen behind the scenes people say a few times now that season 4 has long been complete, and that they were currently (say about 4 or 5 months ago) scripting the end of season 5 and creating the first episodes from it.

i dont know, after my disappointment for Season 3, and not even missing the show not being on, I don't know if i'll tune in for season 4.

I've been rewatching season 3 on star wars.com for those who want to get cuaght up. ashoka may die this season right you think that'll be the season finale?

Here is what we know from Comic Con

Spoilers

  • Shark attack. During the battle on Dac, we will meet a Shark-like Separatist leader named Rik Enson (spelling unconfirmed).
  • But wait, there's Sly Moore. Well, her species at least. Dave Filoni confirmed that we'll visit the eternally-nighttime planet of Umbara, where the native Umbarans are fighting on the side of the Confederacy. The Umbarans' vehicles will be very high-tech, according to Filoni, with holographic dashboards.
  • Trouble in the barracks. "Rex doesn't like what the clones are turning into," Filoni said.
  • Dexter Jettster would be proud. Joining the ranks of the on-screen Jedi Knights is the four-armed Besalisk warrior General Krell.
  • Lone Wolffe. Clone trooper Wolffe (from the Malevolence arc) is back. The loss of his squad-mates in Season 1 has changed him, Filoni explains. He calls Wolffe a "curmudgeon."
  • Revenge of the would-be Sith. Savage Opress, Asajj Ventress, and Nightsisters will return to the series. Opress will be shown continuing his mission to find Darth Maul. When the Nightsisters were announced for Season 4, four women dressed as Dathomir's Dark Side witches appeared on-stage.
  • Apparently, we do need that scum. Bounty hunters return! Cad Bane, Bossk, and Boba Fett will be back, along with another hunter who's making his TCW debut: Dengar!
  • Going commando. Filoni confirmed the appearance of clone commandos, but said it wouldn't be Delta Squad because he doesn't want to mess with that continuity.
  • More-tis. There will be more stories like the Mortis arc. (Please excuse the terrible pun.)
  • Forbidden love? Ahsoka and Lux may develop an on-screen romance.
  • Brainstorming the end. Filoni says he's written about eight different possible fates for Ahsoka, but George and the creative team still have yet to settle on one.
  • Return of the Hutt. Jabba will be back. No word on Stinky.

Couldn't you have just put that in spoiler code instead of that huge gap? As for the news, there is a lot of stuff to get excited for. I wonder if we are ever going to see any of the Light Side Dathomiri Force users (did they call them witches too?), or if there are only Dark Side witches on the CW version of Dathomir?

In previous Expanded Universe stuff, Dengar's origin was tied to Han Solo and he didn't meet Boba until the OT era. His armor also was repainted Stormtrooper armor, guess it's going to be Clonetrooper armor now.

Then again, he isn't the only bounty hunter to have his origins changed by the clone wars era. Boba Fett of course is well known, but also apparentally IG-88's past as a secret Imperial experiment has also been retconned as we see other droids of his type working for the seperatists during the Clone Wars.

Also I would say Delta Squad's continuity is already messed up...;)

I'm okay with episodes about school dinners :rommie: as long as they remember to also carry forward the important plot threads they've started with the Mortis Arc and Padme's political stuff ("Heroes on Both Sides"). And of course, more on Ahsoka's destiny. S3 really amped up the storyline with some great material and two seasons is about right for bringing it to fruition.

My main objection to the series is that the half hour format is too frustrating. The two- and three-episode blocs are obviously intended as one continuous story, so I plan to DVR them and watch them through as such.

Half an hour is just fine for the format. I suppose they could go a full hour and shorten the season but that's just not the way they decided to structure things.

@Dac yeah, last year Filoni explained that while we're watching a season the next season is already well underway in terms of scripts and production art. I believe at celebration V last year he stated for example that they were a third through season four at the time we were mid-way through watching season three and had even started discussions on stories for season five. The fact that he mentioned he has eight different possible endings for Ahsoka on the show would indicate they plan stories as far in advance as possible.

There's also been mention that everyone is up for a second Clone Wars movie but he stated that it wasn't serious talks. Just something that was mentioned.
