When Anakin snuck up behind that assassin droid, he should have used the Force to slam him against the wall and be done with it. Engaging in hand-to-hand combat with a strong droid is about as stupid a tactical decision as you're going to get.

Stupid tactical decision no doubt but destroying a droid, an IG-88 assassin droid no less, with his bare hands was pretty damned impressive IMHO. I kind of thought that he was just trying to make sure it was *really* destroyed. While a simple force slam might work fine for most of the Separatist-created droids, I doubt that the IG-88 droids are quite as flimsy. He probably was concerned that if he didn't rip it to pieces that it might still be able to surprise attack him.

I didn't expect to like this episode going in, but I thought it was one of the better episodes of the season. Sometimes this show feels like "Kiddie Clone Wars" and sometimes it feels just like the movies. Tonight was a movie episode. I expected to hate Cad Bane because of his name and his big floppy hat and his Destroy All Humans look... but he was actually pretty bad ass! Name still sucks, though. We already have a Bane in Star Wars. And I liked how his entire gang was deadly competent, and that Aurra Sing was just one of the backup players. I always love any episode that rips off Die Hard. I agree Anakin was way too weak unarmed... and also that the lightsaber was absolutely a big silvery phallus. Why do you think she was afraid to show it to Organa? ;) Also, I thought the animation was definitely of a higher quality than the Ryloth trilogy. But I was watching it on tape so maybe it's just my imagination but it looked a lot more textured.

Who knew Duro aliens could be badasses?

I just thought they were drunks.

Funny, how at one point Lucas was gonna have the Nemoidians and the blue skinned Duro were the same race...but somehow someone talked him out of it.

i liked it. i've really enjoyed this season and can't wait for more.

besides the back-shooting and the neck-snap, another thing i thought was brutal was the thermal det into the guard room.

The episode was decent enough, I'm just pleasantly surprised at how excellent the overall series has been. Bring on season two.

I totally agree. Before the series started I was kind of down on the whole idea since I felt like we had seen enough of the Clone Wars and didn't think that it would be possible to wring any more "juice" from the PT era, particularly since we got the Clone Wars "microseries" right before the release of Episode III. However, almost from the get go, I have repeatedly been proven wrong about the new series. That they have been able to create and develop NEW and interesting characters within the Star Wars universe, as well as sustain existing ones is a pleasantly surprising development.

Average, but after the last 3 that I really enjoyed, it was hard not to be middling.

I have to admit being very impressed with the quality and consistency of the show. They have really managed to make a Star Wars show that works and actually seem to be hitting some depths to the characters the movies didn't. Overall I'd have to rate the whole series to date in the Above Average, but to rate only within itself, sadly it becomes average :)

What puzzles me is why not end the season with the Ryloth episodes...as a season ender, it felt a little too subdued after last week's episode. Perhaps this fell behind in production, and they couldn't place it ahead of schedule?

The Ryloth Trilogy would've been a good season-ender. I actually thought that it WAS the season-ender until the end of the episode. Next season looks awesome- with more Bane action!

Aside question: I wonder why iTunes has yet to post "Hostage Crisis" for download? Usually they post them for download a day or two after they air.

I'm glad they ended it with this one, introducing a new villain, just the way the original Clone Wars series' first season ended introducing Grevious. Of course I didn't like the Ryloth Trilogy very much so... :p

I personally didn't like it as much as the other episodes. It lost the kiddy feel to it and the fact that the jedi looked stupid. Loved seeing Padme and Anakin interaction though

It puzzled me too but I think that's because Cad Bane is in the next few episodes of Season 2, so it makes sense to end the season following his introduction.

I hadn't heard of them being considered as a single race, but it has been mentioned in some sources (like the EG to aliens) that they are genetically "cousins," with the Neimodians being descended from Duro colonists. It would seem that, given their shady dealings, the Duros have little love for the Neimodians and do not appreciate being confused for them.
