STAR WARS: LEGACY to end with issue #50

I think it would be cool to do a series that's between IV and V. Not much is known about that era. Beyond the few novels, and marvel comics, (Which never followed a continuity) we don't know what it took to find Hoth. What happened to Luke, Han & Leia (Officially) diuing that time?

Good god. That is the most packed time in the entire EU. How much can fit into three years?

Hopefully they'll do an Empire/Rebellion or Republic/Dark Times kind of thing with it.

Not likely. The sales for the Empire/Rebellion and Dark Times are pretty bad. I think a general lack of interest comes from the fact that there isn't anything new under the sun you can do with these two eras.

The star wars comic favorites are I think 1) the knights of the old republic type material 2) post-luke era stuff like Legacy of the Force 3) and also the original clone wars republic material that dovetailed into RotS.

I mean that I think they'll continue with a new name the way Rebellion followed Empire and the way Dark Times followed Republic.

The local comic shop owner told me today that Dark Horse plans to continue Legacy and Dark Times in graphic novel form after they finish their current story arcs. They can still continue the stories, but they will not be bound by monthly deadlines. I think that makes a lot of sense for Legacy because Jan was not able to pencil all the issues on her schedule.

I really enjoyed Star Wars Legacy! First comic series in a long while I actually followed monthly.

Since I only buy trades anyway, I'd be totally cool with that.

I very much approve if this is the case.

I kind of doubt Jan not being able to make deadlines is the reason why Legacy is ending.

Jan is one of the most reliable and consistent pencillers out there and her work output is pretty much the same as anyone working on an ongoing series for a few years. She's been the only artist on the central arcs that have featured Cade and the other main characters. The fill-in artists have only done the brief side story arcs. As a result, Legacy has one of the better track records as far as getting out on time each month.

I'm curious if we're going to get any kind of revelation about some of the back story finally or who the Fel line is descended from...there's been a ton of speculation of course being that they are descended from Jania and Jag...has this been touched on at all? As I said I'm only on trade five or six.

So do I. I am about a year behind at this point: time to catch up.

I really have loved this series as it has made the Star Wars universe really interesting again since anything can happen here.

In the "Fight Another Day" arc we learn that Emperor Fel I is indeed Jagged.

I've only read the first two Legacy books and wanted to confirm: Emperor Fel from Book One: Broken is Jagged Fel?

No, the Emperor in Legacy is Roan Fel, Emperor Fel III.

Well I hope they end it with a bang!

I've been following it for so long and it's sucked me in really good.

Suffice to say, we're not thrilled about having to end the series, and I would be remiss if I did not assure you that the decision in no way reflects on the efforts of the regular creative team of John Ostrander, Jan Duursema, Dan Parsons, Brad Anderson, and Michael Heisler, nor on the work of any of the other talented artists whose work has graced the pages of the book over these past four years. John, Jan, and the others are not, by any means, out of work.

No door closes without another opening, and to those longtime readers who pointed out that it was not likely that I would end Legacy without having some replacement planned, I thank you for your confidence. Trust me, it will be rewarded.
Emphasis mine...
:bolian:

I couldn't find another Legacy thread and didn't feel like starting a new thread Legacy War that would only get one or two posts. I just finished it and thought everything was wrapped up quite nicely. I kind of want this to still continue. Glad to see that
Cade finally embraced his inner Jedi and was able to defeat Darth Krayt
. I do have a question for those who might have read it. What was the point in the last page of the final issue with the squid creatures and the ocean world??? I confess to be lost on that.

Spoiler codes, man! :p

I'm waiting for the TPB. Now that the War arc has wrapped up, the TPB should be out in...oh, a couple of months. :sigh:
