Star Wars: Episode VII: The Nerd Rage Awakens

It's True!

The Dark Side was victorious in Ukraine — where a man going by the name of “Star Wars” villain Emperor Palpatine claimed a seat on Odessa’s city council.

Palpatine Dmitry, 25, won 54.4 percent of the votes in Sunday’s mayoral election in Odessa, according to a mayoral candidate’s Facebook Post.

“A cartoon comrade of Darth Vader – Palpatine – received 54.4 percent of votes in Poselok Kotovskogo [one of Odessa’s neighborhoods]. Palpatin Dmitry, born in 1990, who works as an emperor at ‘LLC Palpatine Finance Group’ makes it to the city council on the Trust Affairs party list,” a bemused Aleksandry Borovik wrote.

“This is beyond my understanding,” the pol added. “People, what’s wrong with you?”

In the “Star Wars” saga, Emperor Palpatine is known as Darth Vader’s mentor and is infamous for destroying the Jedi order.

Palpatine was among a slew “Star Wars” character running for office in Odessa — with Darth Vader, Yoda, Padme Amidala and Chewbacca all on the ballot representing the Internet Party.

Ukrainians cast their ballots in the country’s parliamentary elections on Oct. 25– after President Petro Poroshenko did away with the body in August.

Eddie Murphy in 'The Distinguished Gentleman' - go for name recognition, most people do not really pay attention of much else...

Interdictors are still canon, because Rebels uses them.

Cool....I did see that in a preview for Season 2 (which I'll have to wait for on Blu-Ray, or Netflix). Cool that Interdictors are now official. (I always considered them official though because they came from LF Archives for Star Wars the Role Playing Game).

Now, if we can just get a Victory class Star Destroyer on screen, unless it has been introduced already. I love that design. I also want to get the Fantasy Flight miniature of the Victory class. (An Imperial Class is in the works....hopefully, an SSD not far behind. :) )

What if Luke's already dead?

Then he is more powerful than any of us could imagine :techman:

It will be interesting to see what path Luke has taken. I had an idea that Luke ends up saving Finn from Kylo and that might be his reveal. But, that is just my own theory.

Could be but i don't want a repeat of JJs first Star Trek when Kirk just happens to be ejected over the right planetoid to find Spock AND Scotty (one of the few gripes i have with that movie). There better be a damn good reason why Luke is suddenly appearing in the middle of the fight to save the new heroes ass.

Otherwise i'm very curious how Finn gets ahold of the lightsabre and if he can stand up to Kylo Ren (i don't think Stormtroopers get trained in sword fighting much less where he will get Jedi training if Luke is missing).

Is Season 1 ever coming to Netflix in the US?

They were certainly at least C-canon under the old system as they were featured in the 1990s novels.

Netflix has both the 2008 TCW movie as well as all six seasons of the series so if I had to guess I'd say that Rebels will eventually be streamed there. Knowing Disney and Lucasfilm they probably want to get the second season completed and aired before they offer all the existing episodes to a streaming service.

Generally, Netflix tends to add shows just in time to get caught up for the new season to air on TV. It's actually kind of strange that Rebels Season 1 wasn't made available in time for Season 2 to start airing.

They've been in games as well for quite a few years.
