Star Wars: Episode VII: The Nerd Rage Awakens

Not to mention...GUN ON ICE PLANET ZERO!
bsg-1978-107-the-gun-on-ice-planet-zero-part2%20%2821%29.gif

And remember: it was a group of clones that helped take out the gun. See the connection? Abrams is redoing BSG!

Why are we so sure there is "mind-rape" involved? No Jedi or Sith has shown an aptitude for such a thing so far. Torture seems the far more natural assumption to make.

I really don't get everyone saying that is Leia's voice at the end of the trailer. It sounds to me like the same distinct accent we heard from Lupita earlier on.
Yeah. And how the heck is the "Kylo Ren is Luke" thing STILL being speculated by people? I'm seeing it everywhere. Can they really be so ignorant that they don't know he's played by a different actor, or they just haven't availed themselves of ANY spoilers (which includes cast members)?

I know one of the rumors early on referenced a plot point that made the characters assume he was Luke but is that what these people are keying into?

It kinda blows me away that people (especially on HERE) don't know more about the plot!

And to think Kylo Ren is Luke.......WTF?!?!

Considering what he does in the film (Here's something REALLY cryptic - in the classic Australian comedy series "Mother and Son", a question was asked to which a main character answered, "Instant relief". If you know what the question is, you'll know what Kylo Ren does!) you'd better bloody HOPE he's NOT Luke, or else millions of fanboys will suddenly cry out in anger and then they'll be suddenly silenced!

Oh, he's not going to turn out to be Luke.

Luke may end up being seduced by the Dark Side during Episode VIII and/or IX, but he's not Kylo Ren in Episode VII.

Because it was 10:00am and I was out on the road for work.

So, since I couldn't wait, I pulled over and plugged my phone into the audio jack and turned the car stereo up to 60.
I'm on central European time, so I had to wait til Tuesday morning. Got up 15 minutes early, booted up my PC, plugged my Sennheiser headphones in and enjoyed the glorious imagery... On my 20 inch computer monitor. :shifty:

Eh, it was still great.

I got some curious glances from passersby as I sat there, tears streaming down my face, music blaring.

Fuck 'em.

They're probably mundanes anyway!
Normie fucking shits. :klingon:

See, this is why we geeks need to stick together.

This.
So. Excellently. This.

Saw the trailer yesterday evening after work in HD (stopped halfway watching it on my phone) and goddamn did my eyes get misty! :):)

With each new trailer or tidbit my excitement rises and i can't wait for 17.12.

Fortunately i was able to score 6 half decent tickets for the premiere showing in the night of 16.12. to 17.12.

Come 0.01 AM on 17.12. i will lose my marbles when the light dims and the music starts! :techman:

Personally I hope Rey and Finn aren't related to anybody we know from the OT, and that the fact their last names have been withheld so far is nothing but a misdirect.

Well assuming Finn has a last name. Between the whole line implying he was raised to be a Stormtrooper and Finn being speculated as a name they got from his Stormtrooper ID number, The First Order might just might just be conscripting very young children and not even bothering to give them names before training them and using them as soliders/canon fodder.

Oh yeah, good point about Finn. It seems kind of unlikely that someone who'd been raised nearly from childhood to be a Stormtrooper would be some long lost son of a Solo or Calrissian.

And frankly I have a hard time believing Rey would have been left alone to scavenge on some desolate planet by anyone we know either. Unless either Luke or Han knocked someone up at some point and were never they had a daughter.

But you'd think Luke at least would be able to sense that. And somehow giving Han a kid he didn't know about feels a bit too similar to giving Indy a kid he didn't know about in Indy 4, so I'm not sure Abrams (or Ford) would want to go there again...

I would guess that Rey is in self-exile for some reason. I like the idea someone had earlier that she may even have the Falcon stashed away.

Watching the new trailer and comparing it to Episode One's trailer got me thinking

Episode 7's trailer and tone are more. Cinematic? More serious? More polished?

Looking at AOTC and other trailers they feel the need to blare the star wars march too.

I don't know the right word to describe it.

At least there's no Jar Jar slapstick inserted into the trailer

Again.

"Oh, C'mon, it's just a movie, and Lucas isn't even..."
"Dude, get a grip! It was actors years ago and it doesn't even hold up now!"
"Lucas this and JJ that and who's voice and who and who's brother and sister and blah blah blah."

If tears were not streaming down your face at the images and voices and the soundtrack and the Anticipation...

For me the big difference is that the TFA trailer leans a lot more on real drama and emotion than on special effects and action and weird alien planets, which seemed to be a big focus of the prequel trailers.

Of course it obviously helps that Abrams is just a much better director to begin with, and has (like Kuschner did) a much richer and more cinematic kind of style.

That was just an AWFUL trailer though... showcased the worst parts of the movie lol. This one was better:

Now. In 1999 though, it was pretty awesome.

This one was better:

Although I do agree with that sentiment.

This has been my guess since the beginning. Rey is a Solo/Skywalker, but she had some kind of a falling out with her parents when she was fairly young and took off. She finds out something, probably after her run in with Finn, that forces her to reunite wither her father and maybe her mother.

I think no matter the overall quality, this will at least be the best looking Star Wars movie.
