I wonder if Sheev is the equivalent of Steve in that Galaxy. On certain planets you could have rooms were you have a half dozen Sheevs, that's why he ways goes by Palpatine or Sidious. They had to use last names most of the time to avoid confusion.

A couple of months ago I was visiting my grandma and she was watching this Indian soap opera... One of the characters was called Shiv. I lost my shit.

BTW, James Luceno (the writer of "Tarkin") confirmed that the name "Sheev" was Lucas' own brainchild. I guess that naming was his going away present for us fans.
