yeah, hopefully it's just been a few months or something.

As for the Sith magic spell, they fought an etheric war with the Force and managed to shift it ever so slightly from light to dark, so that the dark side would slowly gain dominance and obscure the foresight and ability of the Jedi. It didn't control people's minds or alter their character, it was more of a subtle shift in power.

Maybe it's three years or some such.

If there are young, new Jedi, who would have trained them if Luke had been held captive for so long?

I suppose they could learn the Force from a book they found in the Coruscant sewers.

I'm...not sure how I feel about it. I both do and don't like it. It looks cool, but it eschews the kinda retro-future stylings the OT had for a very contemporary aesthetic. Paradoxically, it almost feels dated to me as a result. I'm also a little perplexed by it being asymmetrical.

That said, it'll probably turn out to be amazing in action, as these leaks tend to go.

I like the new helmet design. It's a little bold in spots but takes the classic OT look and has it evolve in much the same way the PT Clone helmets changed during the course of the Clone Wars.

30 years in Starfleet can see more equipment and uniform changes than this.

If decades have passed in-universe, it's completely unreasonable to suppose that the original design would still be in use, obviously.

As stated elsewhere, even the Clone Trooper helmets of the Prequels and the animated series changed design and had many variants, and that all took place within an in-universe timeframe of just a little over three years.

That long? I very much doubt it. That would just open up a hundred cans of worms and the concept alone could sink the film. I don't think J.J. and Lawrence Kasdan would pull that kind of stunt, especially not Kasdan. That guy is intimately familiar with what makes the best Star Wars screenplays work and I doubt he'd agree to a concept that outlandish.

But now they can have this line

Are you Luke Skywalker? We're here to rescue you.

On second thought...nah, lets not bother. I think it is much more likely that the bad guy(s) capture Luke a short time before the movie begins.

Towards the end, he was normally just naval gazing through most of it over how much the Jedi should fight and if they did, would it lead to the Dark side. Now in that bug trilogy after the Vong War, he actually used Force Lightning if memory serves.

Luke was a Badasssssss in some of those Yuuzhan Vong books.

Towards the end, he was normally just naval gazing through most of it over how much the Jedi should fight and if they did, would it lead to the Dark side. Now in that bug trilogy after the Vong War, he actually used Force Lightning if memory serves.

He had a great fight with the chief Vong baddie in the last novel of the series, and in one of the earlier novels he rescues Jacen with two spinning lightsabers and a wave of rocks.

The series was incredibly uneven like most EU material when it came to the amount of "power" Luke and the other Jedi could use without going over to the Dark Side.

One of my favorite Luke scenes in the EU is when he confronts his nephew who has become Darth Cadeus and totally powns him, even pinning him in his chair.

Yeah, that was great. The NJO books completely ruined Jacen long before he became Cadeus, so I'd been wanting to see him get his ass kicked for awhile.

Sweet. Concept art of Han's costume in the movie. Surprised to see a return of the Hoth costume, and the second one is growing on me the more I look at it.

Although personally I was kinda hoping for a return of the ESB jacket.

I'm liking it.

I too would love to see a new variant of his old black vests or ESB long-sleeved jacket make an appearance, but if aging Han likes to sport the trenchcoat look in his later years then I think it'll probably look pretty cool on him.

I hope he dons a vest or jacket at some point in the film, though. C'mon. It's Han. That's almost like having Chewie go most of a Star Wars movie without his trademark ammo bandolier.
