Star Wars: Episode VII: The Nerd Rage Awakens

I think some of the first order or knights of ren members are obsessed with the lore of Vader(Hence the helmet)

Who knows they might even go to great lengths to clone him.

There is some dialogue from a Kylo Ren figure] that might lead to him being a big fan of Vader.

I think once he see's Anakins/Luke's lightsaber he'll claim it's rightfully his.

I wonder if anyone that had a force ghost, like Yoda or Obiwan or Quigon were cloned if the ghost would inhabit the body? So if they clone a Vader, would it pop out an Anakin?

While it wouldn't be my first choice story wise, I wouldn't have a problem with them bringing back Hayden Christensen as Anakin, preferably as a Force Ghost. It would also be a lot of fun to see the hardcore OT fans/PT haters absolutely lose their minds. The only thing that would be funnier would be if we got a Jar Jar Binks cameo.

Don't push it with Ja Jar ;)

Yeah, I like him a lot in that but he's even better in Life as a House. In which he stars with Kevin Kline and shares the screen with Jena Malone, which he has tons of chemistry with.

Call me crazy, but, given the option, I'd much rather them bring back Portman. Luke has already had time with dad. Time to hang with mom for a while.

Well being 30 years later I can easily see how Vader might be regarded within the new Empire as this almost mythic figure.

And of course it would fit with the neo-Nazi theme and how much those people seem to revere and idolize Hitler.

I suppose it's theoretically possible for a non-Jedi to learn how to manifest their consciousness as a Force ghost after death. I wouldn't bet on ever seeing it, though. My guess is we might get mentions of Padmé if Luke and/or Leia make references to their parents, but if Natalie Portman films any new scenes it'll probably be for a flashback or a hologram sequence.

Force ghosts. They're a helluva drug.

But agreed on the holorecording idea. Padmé seemed like the kind of person who'd record a message for her future child (or children) just in case something happened to her before they reached maturity. The Clone Wars were a violent and bloody period in galactic history and her life had been threatened numerous times before the wars even began.

Heck, Obi-Wan left a recording for Jedi survivors of Order 66 that wasn't found and seen until Kanan Jarrus activated that Jedi holocron in the premiere episode of Rebels. That was 15 years later.

We've already established that PT heroes record holomessages for others they care about. Why not Padmé?

Obi-Wan's warning was seen much sooner than fifteen years after he recorded it. That's how Kanan had it in the first place, and that's how he knew not to try and return to Coruscant. Any other Jedi who might have survived Order 66 likely would have seen it, too.

Unless you're talking about Obi-Wan's message not being seen from an out-of-universe perspective...

That's what I meant and that's how I should have phrased it. We as the audience had never seen it before. Obviously there'd been other surviving Jedi who had seen the recording since Order 66.

That's the reason why I suggested 3P0. I figure a droid wipe is akin to formatting the hard drive.

Padme records the message and secures it, but since no one knows it's there (including 3PO himself), no one is looking for it.

But--for plot contrivance #173--Rey or Finn are searching his memory banks for some old files and stumble on the message on accident.

Echoing the scene in the Lars family garage in A New Hope when Luke accidentally triggers Leia's message. I like it. That, or Artoo somehow detects and activates the message since Threepio can't project visual recordings and would need a download or interface with another droid or computer.

yeah, the whole reason they go back to the Temple was to turn the "Jedi come back" trap message the beacon was sending out to the "Stay the fock away" message Kanan sees - otherwise Obi-Wan and Yoda would've just stayed with Bail Organa on that Corellian Corvette.

Something like this happened in the EU book "Tatooine Ghost".
