Star Wars: Episode VII: The Nerd Rage Awakens

^From I think the latest issue of Empire, the First Order are a break away shoot from the Empire and JJ explains it that it's basically the Nazi's that escaped to South America working together to wage war in Europe again.

So, automatically I should hate them? Got it:techman:

Yeah, but deep down inside, beneath all the layers of pain and anguish manifested through anger and hateful rage, Kylie is actually a good person.

Rey is going to fall in love with him and redeem him. He's also going to die in in her hands, calling it now. Might as well put spoiler tags on this shit.

As crazy as it sounds, I could see that happening.

Either that, or they are brother and sister.

"You're a scavenger? Well, who's the perfect child now? I have my own empire, and I'm not even 25 yet!"

What do you mean, "eather that, or"?

I follow Daisy Ridley on instagram. She is so excited about everything connected to this film that it is very, very charming.

Well, you start with the awkward romance plot, and then reveal later on that they are brother and sister while never acknowledging the weird attraction early on.

I like the new pictures, though I'm surprised that Poe isn't in there. Also, Rey is starting to like a bit of an action heroine. Looking cool.

She seems like such a sweet, down-to-earth and nice person, as does John Boyega. They picked two pretty great people to play these roles and I hope it all comes out on the screen when we see the film.

Aftermath seemingly sets the stage as the "maybe we should just head out to the edge of known space" arguments are made.

I think it's amazing how this entire media roll out is keeping the mystery. We got a million toys two weeks ago... that revealed absolutely nothing about the movie  The toys won't even tell us Rey or Finn's last names! We have no toys for Han or Luke or Leia. We still don't officially know what Luke looks like in the new movie! We still don't know what the movie is ABOUT. :)

We know more about The Force Awakens than we do about Star Trek Beyond. I don't think we even know the names of the new characters yet. Spectre which comes out a month before TFA is also shrouded in mystery.

I hate the Abrams mystery box approach. I know that plenty of people like it and would prefer to go into a movie completely unspoiled, but I learned that lesson with the Prequels (and Indiana Jones 4) and I'm not going to repeat it for TFA.

Knowing the plot of a movie beforehand typically does not diminish my enjoyment of it.

We're incredibly spoiled these days. There are entire sites devoted to reviewing movie trailers, not even the movies; the sort of thing the Onion was cracking jokes about a decade ago. There's a constant Internet-fuelled cycle of hype and speculation that people take for granted. The days when you got a single movie trailer that told you virtually nothing and then you got the movie are long gone... and frankly the results are a bit exhausting.

Abrams' so-called "mystery box" approach is just a slightly more traditional style of movie marketing, and TBH I prefer it. That people feel entitled to have the filmmakers reveal practically the whole story to them before releasing the movie is faintly absurd.
