Star Wars E-book Price Alerts

@Set Harth and @Campe agreed.

I had the first editions of all three hardcovers with the gold foil star wars logos on them. May 1991, Early 1992, and April 1993 for all three. Does anyone remember that Bantam was supposed to issue Heir to the Empire in a leatherbound edition and cancelled it at the last minute in the early 2000’s? I bet it was over the sale of Star Wars rights back to Del Rey. I actually preferred the SF book club editions for all my books. Those were awesome. Until buying a Kindle fire in 2011 and going all digital.

Needless to say all, I am disabled born with Cerebral Palsy and my coordination has been getting worse in my advanced years, and I have never been able to turn my left hand flat upside down. So hence the need for all digital. I always prided myself for leaving my print books as pristine as can be never excessively breaking the spines and abusing my books. Star Wars, Indiana Jones and all comics were the fire that got me to read and I grew up alongside the books and movies simultaneously. I had the Star Wars Storybook 1978 with the gold cover Star Wars novel together with me all the time. I broke my grade schools reading record in first grade reading other books, thanks to Star Wars.

As I said unfortunately, digital is a necessity for me, and I’m glad and grateful for the choice. But, man the memories. I grew up right in the golden age of new/old sci fi explosion in the late 1970’s Star Wars, Star Trek in syndication, Buck Rogers, and Battlestar Galactica, 1966 Batman, and 1950’s Superman on TV all thanks in part because of Superman the movie. That time seems never to be repeated again.

So I hope I earned a true fan status in you guy’s eyes.
Thanks for the remembrance of great memories too.
Enjoy all,
-Koric

P.S. One absolute downside to digital... the ridiculous changing of the ebook covers all the time. The original printed artwork was awesome. The revolving door of new covers and artwork is hideous, and amateurish.

Outbound Flight is now $1.99.

[Edited to add: So is Dark Disciple.]

The ebook versions of tons of Marvel comics are deeply discounted this week to coincide with May the 4th.

There are several deals coming up on Sunday, but think they're pretty much all for physical books.

Specter of the Past by Timothy Zahn is $1.99 in the Daily Deals today. The conclusion of the duology, Vision of the Future, is at $9.99 (its regular price).
