I like Cad Bane.
I did too.
I think all the new information sounds good. I admit that the words "Brother of Darth Maul" conjured up bad fan fiction premises but reading about the concept behind it, I really think it works. Should create an interesting dynamic as the backstories of certain characters are explored.

Cad Bane seems the only competent villain on the show.

I'm not a fan of big Cad Bane fan but see his appeal to those who are. I'm looking forward to the upcoming season. Also over the weekend when a kid asked Dave about the fate of Ahsoka he did the fedora over his face thing again and kind of mumbled that she's still around. So I'm guessing that by the end of the series Ahoska will be killed.
Cad Bane was shown in the season three megatrailer so it looks like we'll be seeing him at least in a limited role this year. Filoni said the theme of the season will be "Fall of the Bounty Hunters".
Somehow I missed that post with the link to the megatrailer...thanks for posting it. I'm really excited about this season. I admit that I missed most of last season due it not holding my attention but this looks epic. I'm adamant that this series captures the spirit I think of what the prequels were meant to be, if they'd been executed like this I don't think we'd have much of a problem with them as we do as fans.

That's pretty funny, since Season Two was "Rise of the Bounty Hunters" but they only appeared in the opening arc and then the last two episodes
About 7 episodes total. Some appeared in the Seven Samurai homage as good guys in the oddly titled "Bounty Hunters" (they were hired guns or mercenaries).
Death Watch Mandalorians appeared, but aren't bounty hunters like the Fetts, but a seperatist faction.
Savage Oppress? That's his name? Gee, could they have picked something more obvious like Badguy McKillspeople or Villain Q. Douchebaggington?
Heheh. Subtlety has never been this franchise's strong point. I seem to remember a Season 1 episode, where Bail Organa tells Padme they need to stop the Invasion of Privacy Act? Invasion of Privacy Act...did Palpatine just give up trying to hide his evilness at that point? Why not push the Youngling Slaughter Act while you're at it. On that subject...
The prequels show that the transition from Republic to Empire was not a hostile one, in that the government was not taken by force. Power was given to the Chancellor willingly and he reorganized the Republic into the First Galactic Empire. But I've often wondered how he went about explaining the dead younglings. I think even those in favor of the Empire would have a hard time trying to justify that. My guess...Palpatine said that he tried to save the Jedi younglings but the Jedi killed them in a last act of villainy. The proof is that they had lightsaber burns on them.
Anyway, I liked Cad Bane. Thought he was a terrific villain.

I see they've decided to use the squid-ship or whatever it is underwater, where its "swimming" method of locomotion actually makes sense, unlike the TCW film in which it was swimming through space.
And I see they've boldly stolen the design of Ventress' starship from the 2-D Genndy Tartakovsky Clone Wars cartoon.
I don't think they've "stolen" it as much as borrowed it and I believe that Lucas stated that the animated Clone Wars series is still cannon...or some parts of it are anyways and that this takes place alongside it somewhat.
I don't think it mattered much. By that time the Jedi were gone and Palpatine controlled all the clones. What were planets going to do try to secede and face the imperial fleet on their own?
Brainwashed youth fighting to the bitter end for a cult bent on galactic domination. It also has a certain ring of truth to it.
