It's hard to picture Han Solo as anyone other than Harrison Ford, but Kurt Russel did a nice job there. As much as I like William Katt, he certainly wasn't the naive farm boy that Mark Hammil portrayed him to be. Too bad though, he'd make a good Skywalker. I also remember seeing footage Katt auditioning for Indiana Jones too.For my money I still prefer the Saturday Night Live take on the Star Wars auditions with Burt Reynolds for Darth Vader (So what kind of car does this Vader guy drive), Jack Lemon for Chewbacca (what the f*ck is a space ape?), Walter Matthau as Obi Wan, and I think Liza Minelli for Princess Leia.

They were on the DVDs of the original trilogy, which were released between AOTC and ROTS, as far as I remember. I assume they're also on the blu-ray but I'm not shelling out again.

I remember being particularly impressed by Kurt Russell as Han Solo. I think he might have been as good as Ford had he landed the role.

I think in 77 Kurt looked a little too baby faced to play Solo
