Star Wars AOTC and ROTS to be Released in 3D Back-to-Back in 2013

If you cut out the "romance" scenes, AOTC is a damn good action movie. Who doesn't love the speeder chase through Coruscant? Obi-Wan and Jango in the asteroid belt, and on Kamino? The huge massive Battle of Geonosis? Yoda versus Dooku?

Indeed, though Dooku VS Kenobi, and Dooku VS Anakin didn't really impress me.

I think Lucas should have let Steven Spielberg do his cut of AOTC (he wanted to direct it anyway, but Lucas denied him) and released THAT version in 3D. And, of course, market it as a Steven Spielberg cut.

Given how Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull turned out, I highly doubt Spielberg would've made that big of a difference. It's pretty clear who was really in charge on that one.

I mean, seriously didn't we all realize how stupid this was 30 years ago?
You would have a point if the biggest movie of all time wasn't released in 3D.;)
Make that two of the three biggest movies of all time.

All of the top 3, counting a certain 3D conversion re-release earlier this year.

I've watched Avatar once on DVD, Titanic several times on both DVD and TV, with The Avengers being the only one of the three I bothered to see theatrically (twice!).... in 2D.

But Indy IV didn't suffer from poor, practically non-existent directing, like AOTC. I don't think Hayden Christensen would have been so wooden, had Spielberg directed him. After all, the guy was even nominated for a Golden Globe once.

Come to think of it, lousy acting and poorly written dialogue are by far the biggest weaknesses of that movie.

I think a good director would have made all the difference in the world.

Yeah, the guy who has repeatedly directed films overlong, bloated, and with huge leaps of logic: Spielberg.
