Admiral
Admiral
Ahsoka disobeys Anakin's orders and loses most of her squadron - prompting Anakin to help give his Padawan a lesson in a respect for authority, and the opportunity for redemption.

This one looks pretty good.

Aside from the fact that a 12 year old girl is commanding a cruiser full of hardened battle troops, this was a great episode. I particularly enjoyed seeing an attempt at space combat tactics rather than just ships blasting away at each other. I also liked having an intelligent enemy commander.

^ It's not the first time we've seen her in command though which is surprising. We saw her giving the Admiral orders earlier in the season and him following them.

Maybe Starship Command is one of her force powers?

Great episode, I loved it. Those bombers tore up those seppers, most excellent.

I thought it was pretty good. I loved the scene with Anakin crashing the Star Destroyer into the Droid Control Ship and the dumb battle droids, of course, not realizing where their commander went to. I look forward to the next two parts.

Good opening episode to the the finale. And this episode, once again, proves to me why I like this version of Anakin over the whiny-emo we see in the films.

I loved this one, Anakin is portrayed a lot better than he was in the films, and Ahsoka is growing on me a little more. Also i thought the space battles were well done and thats what i mainly love star wars for.

I get the feeling that if your either a Jedi or even a Jedi in training your higher in the Republic Military pecking order than anyone else.

What better way to scapegoat them. Put them in charge, and when they can't do it it's the fault of the Jedi. The Jedi put kids on the firing line, the Jedi put kids in charge of massive warships, the Jedi...on and on and on.

Not too fond of it. The Separatists having only one living being in command of their entire fleet, even though they know the battle droids are morons? Rotating a ship to present its least vulnerable section to the enemy is a brilliant tactical innovation rather than something completely obvious? And why couldn't the Republic send reinforcements when Obi-Wan's ships were able to arrive mere seconds after Anakin took out the Separatist ship?

The other funny bit was when they had three destroyers and lost one, then said they lost half their fleet :D

I was making a joke about the force power thing.

And yes the Jedi do outrank the military personnel.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.

Found this one to be a bit generic. I think they could almost make an episode using entirely clips from other ones and no one would notice.

That seems to be a hold over from the films though. I was watching ROTS this evening and during the fight on the Invisible Hand there was one Neimodian and the rest were battle droids.

^^Yeah, I could kind of accept there being one live commander per ship, but only one in the entire fleet? Not a lot of redundancy there.

Is it sad that there are more space battles on this show than there have been in the entirety of Battlestar Galactica?

Something was off with Ashoka's voice this week. Not sure what it was, but it sounded much more disinterested than usual.

totally NOT the episode the Sky Movies Prem announcer woman announced. i enjoyed it.

(for those interested, she reckoned Anakin was facing the Dark Side on 'yay-vin 4'*)

*i thought it was Yah-vin 4...?:vulcan:

No. This is an action-adventure show aimed at kids, so it's heavy on the action. BSG is a drama aimed at adults, so its emphasis is on people rather than explosions. It's entirely natural and expected that this show has more space battles than BSG.

She was depressed and subdued because of the lives lost under her command. Showing less outward emotion and interest, having a flatter, less expressive voice, is a common symptom of depression.

Also, I think the idea here was to show Ahsoka becoming more mature as a result of these events, so her youthful, energetic delivery begins to give way to a more controlled, mature speech pattern. Compare how Luke's delivery in Return of the Jedi differed from his delivery in A New Hope.
