Actually, we haven't seen the Toydarian homeworld yet. That was a neutral moon that the negotiations took place on. It's possible we'll see it later in the series, since there have been rumors from behind the scenes that we shouldn't take the one-shot episodes at face value (elements from them may come into play later on in the series).

The animation is really improving. This was the first episode I've seen with full motion in the backgrounds and full motion on the displays and read-outs.

^^I was more impressed by the character animation. There was more subtlety and expressiveness in the characters' facial expressions and body language. It seemed the animators were still struggling against the inbuilt rigidity of these 3D models, but they appear to be getting better at compensating for the models' limits.

The only real complaint I have about the series so far is the music, which in this episode I found to be REALLY obtrusive, to the point that it distracted me from what was going on, which is saying something since I'm rarely bothered by such details. Am I alone in this?

Did anyone think the robot fighter ships were a Galactica homage?

What do you mean, the droid fighters have been around since Episode 1 (1999)?

I liked R3's bleepy vocals. Besides the obvious external differences between astromechs, I've also enjoyed the few subtle differences that the universe has explored over the years. There aren't many, so when we get to experience them, it is a treat.

Being a more developed character, R2-D2 is of course the most familiar of all the astromechs. But I know some R5's have distinct sounds, and Obi-Wan's R4 in AOTC sounded unique as well. So this was a nice change of pace. I suppose it was especially necessary from a storyline perspective in this instance, since Anakin had to spurred on by R2 beeps off in the distance while still in the presence of this "R3." Like cheese or breadcrumbs to a mouse, this distinction was important for the plot to go on.

What do you mean, the droid fighters have been around since Episode 1 (1999)?

I guess I haven't watched the prequel movies in a while but the way they were shot, the way they moved and the missiles just really reminded me of Galactica moreso than I remember from the films anyway.
