I will confess, I'm totally ignorant on the licensing situation. In fact, I never even thought about it until the video popped up in my YouTube feed. So from my perspective of not having any preconceived notions, the video made some deductions based on scarce knowledge which seemed plausible.
I was hopi g for further insights to alleviate my ignorance. The vitriol against the video maker was something I didn't expect. for those asking for "proof" of one position or another, you need look no further than drt's post to get a glimpse of the inner workings of a large corporation. Heck. I'm not even sure why MY company does what it does half the time. So I sincerely doubt we will ever know one way or another the real background - is it creative differences? Is it limited by licensing? Beats me.
full disclosure, I'm not a bad robot fan. But their deliverable isnt intended for me. They are targeting a different demographic. And I'm ok with that. The show isn't for me. But I don't hate it' or their fans.
