To celebrate, we're reliving the glory of 10 of the best monsters and creatures to stomp, ooze or float across the screen in the groundbreaking TV series.
Are these the cheesiest? Number 1

I would vote the Melkotian (Spectre of the Gun) one of the cheesiest, after the pipe-cleaner-form of the folks in Catspaw.

Tribbles are too original to be cheesy - true cheesiness should remind you of something you've seen before, ideally in the half-off bin at Walgreen's the day after Halloween.

So let's boot the furballs in favor of the squirmy little things Sylvia and Korob turned back into at the end of Catspaw.

Do the "eyes of Vaal" count?

Reading that article makes me wonder if the person that wrote is even a Trek fan. Because IMO they seemed alittle to sarcastic in their comments to actually be a Trek fan.

As for cheesy, I would have to say that the Gorn, Horta, Malkotians, and Excalbians would probably be the top on my list. I like the concepts between all of them, it's just the methods that were used that were used to create them that I think are cheesy. IMO if they went back and recreated them, I think they could all be really cool. Just look at the Gorn in In a Mirror, Darkly, IMO he was pretty cool. (Although I was pissed they changed his eyes). Gorn in IMaD If you want to skip to the Gorn he's at 4:48.

Although the aliens from Catspaw were poorly done, I applaud the show for the originality in the ocncept of the look.

The alltime lowest, worst, makes me shudder alien is the Mugato from " A private Little War". Not a bad episode, intoduced Dr. MBENGA. I'll even excuse the cheesy blonde wigs.....but the Mugato, come one!

Well, those flying fried eggs from "Operation: Annihilate!"
(on TVLand this morning). They even came with a built-in disclaimer-- "They hardly look real, Captain."
