Next year is going to be such a crazy awesome year for movies, also I would get ready to bump the date back on MI3, it's been having problems lately with it's script.

Doubtful. They've been filming since November. They did do re-writes after filming started, but they shouldn't have a problem meeting the release date.

I think the film should be released in 2016. It seems like the longer the wait the more popular the film is. 7 seems to be like a good round number, since it was 7 years between Nemesis and Star Trek.

Added G.I. Joe 2.

^ Star Trek would be better off going back a week to just have a extra week away from Spiderman. Also that opening week would have lesser competition not being against Snow White.

I wouldn't underestimate Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

A movie opening at that time of year needs to hit big on its opening weekend and then show some legs - being number one for more than one week is desirable, but it's accomplished by so few movies during the summer that no studio can make their scheduling decisions based on that.

Snow White is not strong competition for Trek - the demos are somewhat different, and the title doesn't have much leverage at this point; they'll be fighting the Disney association.

I'm sure that's what some people said about "Alice in Wonderland" and that opened to $116 million and ended with over $1 billion worldwide. I'm definitely not saying that the same will happen with Snow White, but it just goes to show that no one knows how a story so well known in the public domain will do (when cast and marketed correctly).

Unless Johnny Depp's in "Snow White", I doubt it will do that much bank as "Alice in Wonderland". Also, what opened against "Alice in Wonderland"? Didn't that come out in mid-spring or something like that?

Yeah, I doubt that the notion of "Alice In Wonderland" itself enticed all that many people to the theater. Johnny Depp and to a lesser extent Tim Burton, along with the time of year, made the difference there.

Julia Roberts can still open a movie but her core audience is not the kids who go to see summer action flicks. This is probably the best flick that Trek could be going up against.

Pixar's Brave just moved back a week to June 22nd, making that weekend a little more crowded.

Spiderman is the biggest wildcard IMO, The Dark Knight will definetly knock Trek down one notch. Stll, if Trek stays a consistant #2 or #3 at that point it would be fine.

These are just the tentpoles at this point. There will be lots more movies as it gets closer. But I wouldn't be surprised if Trek stays in the Top 5 for at least a month.

Highly doubt it. Isn't this movie focusing on high school again? I don't even remember anyone who's in it except I think Emma Stone's in it? This "reboot" is going to tank.
