Star Trek XI: The Wrath of Kirk

I think that is a pretty kick ass trailer. In fact, it's perhaps the best argument for actually making a movie like that.

I love how they reappropriate lines from the movies. My favorite is, "I'm laughing at the superior intellect."

I think the beginning is perhaps a bit too slow and belabors a tad too much on everyone else telling Captain Kirk that he's old. But once Kirk starts rebelling, the trailer is a non-stop rollercoaster ride of overused superlatives!!!!!

What do you folks think about it?

"James T. Kirk, renegade and terrorist" makes him sound a lot more badass now than it did in the original context. Probably because, in the original context, that "renegade and terrorist" was patiently sitting on a planet of pacifists calling for town-hall votes among his crew.

that was a fun little ride - other than the Matrix quote thrown in feeling out of context - very well edited though, I'm impressed

it's always exciting when this stuff includes actual dialog rather than just muted movie clips with music underneath

And it just sounds weird coming out of Guinan's mouth like that.

But I really like the way they used Xavier's line from X2, "Eric, what have you done?" and replaced "Eric" with Picard whispering "Kirk" when he first sees him in the Nexus in Generations.

Amen! In fact, I think this trailer uses a lot of lines that I don't think were used in the original movies but were quite trailer worthy:

KIRK: "I'm laughing at the superior intellect."

KIRK: "I swear to you we're not finished yet."

KLINGON: "Behold the quintessential devil in these matters: James T. Kirk, renegade & terrorist."

RIKER: "What the hell is he doing?!"

PICARD: "I will terminate him."

Speaking of using lines from other movies, I'd love to see a fan edit like this that takes some of Shatner's Boston Legal dialog! That'd be a whole new side of Kirk
