There is a lot of excitement about the upcoming Star Trek XI movie. If you're jazzed about the film, that's great! That's why we have the Star Trek XI Forum for discussion of the film.

It's natural that you might want to make passing references to the movie outside of the Trek XI forum. However, PLEASE remember that there are also folks who may wish to remain as unspoiled as possible about the film, in order to make their first viewing next May a new and fresh experience. That's fine, too, if they so wish. It would really be a drag for them to be here in the ENT forum and suddenly, without warning, come upon some plot or character detail about the movie that they would rather not know.

We've been running into more and more movie spoilers here in the ENT forum, with no warning given beforehand. Please, if you must bring up a spoiler about the film--we're assuming it would have relevance to Enterprise to be mentioned--kindly enclose your post in spoiler tags, or give warning and insert plenty of blank space before your spoiler.

A little discretion and courtesy for your fellow board members is all we ask. Thanks! :)

Reminder of the reminder...

There have been advance screenings. Reviews are coming out. Naturally, it's harder than ever to keep from spilling details about the movie.

But please, folks, for the sake of those who want to view Star Trek XI without having heard any of the plot details...if it hasn't shown up as an image or dialogue in one of the trailers or on the cover of some national magazine, try your level best to keep discussion of the movie in the Trek XI forum. If you absolutely must mention it here, hide it behind spoiler tags.

Just until May 8, okay? Thanks.

Star Trek 2009 has opened! Judging by the terrific box office numbers, many of you had a chance to see it over the opening weekend.

BUT some people may need a little more time to get to the theater, and we still don't want to ruin the experience for them. So please help us out a bit longer and keep the more obvious plot-specific Trek XI references in designated spoiler threads, or hidden behind spoiler tags. Thanks.

Trek XI spoilers, unhidden by spoiler tags, have begun cropping up in totally unrelated threads here in the ENT forum. I realize the film has been open for over two weeks now, and it may be inconceivable to some of you, but there are still plenty of folks who haven't had a look at the movie yet. In fact, it hasn't even opened in several Asian markets.

Having the mods follow you around and stick "Trek XI Spoilers" in any thread where you've posted a spoiler isn't going to work, folks. If we did only that, just about every thread in the joint will have "Spoilers Ahoy!" in the title within a couple of weeks. We're going to need all of you to help us out.

So! Time for another reminder about spoilers. If you please...
  • NO Trek XI spoilers in thread titles.
  • Spoilery threads MUST have a spoiler warning in the thread title.
  • If you bring spoiler discussion into a non-related thread, hide the info behind spoiler tags. That includes caption threads, avatar contests, every non-Trek XI-specific thread.
  • Let's continue these spoiler protocols until the film has been open for a month, i.e., until June 8 (rather than October when the DVD comes out)...because this is, after all, a Trek board, and a Trek film we're talking about. *

Thanks!
