Star Trek XI score

I see no need to quote Goldsmith's Star Trek music. Yes it's wonderful, but none of the other feature composers felt the need to use it. They all did work with the Courage theme in some way though, and that of course should be in the new score.

Thats the answer.

I suspect it'll be like Casino Royale - the TOS theme tune will be the cherry for the end credits, denoting that the characters are now fully formed. The crew will be in the bridge, Kirk will say something Kirk like, the ship will go to warp speed , we'll whizz past planets and in kicks the theme.

A vaguely recall an article on TrekToday which suggested that as soon as he heard that his friend JJ Abrams was running the new film Giacchino immediately asked when he could get started on the score. Those two are glued together.

Going by the teaser trailer, I think we'll hear some classic Trek music thrown in there mixed with Giacchino's own style.

I don't want to hear an exact reproduction of Courage's original theme. I do think it would be nice if Giacchino's version refers back to Courage and maybe Goldsmith.

Oh, Nice. :bolian:
