STAR TREK XI CANCELED!!!

Re: This thread

Then go rub yourself the right way, and leave the rest of us to enjoy humorous threads such as this one.

:p

If you took this thread seriously, I suggest you go over to RealityCheck.com and get a free reality check, it costs only 25 dollars!

Re: This thread

Actually, Korczynski, he's one of the "favorites" around here, so he's allowed to set up a troll post like this.

It's arcane, but the older cancelled which followed the rule that a short vowel needed the final consonant doubled before adding -ed; is now trumped by a newer style that declares this only must be done if the final syllable in the root receives the stress. So, canceled turns out to be correct and even preferred by current editing standards. Another example is labeled for the past of label.

An example where stress is final would be prefer itself which only has preferred and not *prefered. A similar example is repel which only has repelled.

We have discussed this and discussed this topic, and you got your answer out in QSF. Just like you got pretty much the SAME answer a couple of days ago in the "No Real News" thread. So I want this sort of remark knocked off immediately.

Just because you deliberately choose to mistake 'talent', 'effort' and 'an underlying message' for 'preferential treatment' doesn't give you the right to come in and basically call him a troll.

Bonz has already spoken on this issue, and so if you disagree, you need to take it up with her. Not dump piles of shit in other people's threads and deliberately try to stir up trouble in the forum.

Please knock it off beginning, like, now.

Thanks.

Sorry. The "TREK movie's been canceled" crap just rubbed me the wrong way, as I imagine it has others. I'm kind of done for now unless people reply to my other posts on this.

It's... a... gag. Can't we have some fun?

Some of us have been around this BBS for years. We get bored of the "serious" fan posts. Please, cut us some slack.

What, you watch Trek and talk about it for fun?! Some of us are professional Trek fans, and we take our work very seriously, thank you very much.

Punk.

The funniest thing is, there's a grain of truth in that. ;)

Whoa now, what's with this continual putting words into someone's mouth?

Perhaps I forget that English might not be someone's first language. A "troll post" is a reference to a style of posting -- in that phrase, troll is an adjective, not a noun.

I know firsthand that the OP is in no way a troll. In that sense, troll would be a noun. Or alternately, a not-so-bewitching behemoth beneath a bedeviled bridge.

That could be something one might suppose looks rather like what one might call it when a moderator has instead become quite literally a 'talent' agent, an 'effort' evaluator, and subliminal message translator. But again, might and suppose.

So in any event, since it's clear that canceled/cancelled isn't the source of great talent, effort, and underlying message; please again remind us of the vitality of this thread? Star Trek XI has been canceled?

Re: This thread

This thread probably be closed for the sole reason that it has fallen completely off topic and has become another sounding board for the unhappy parties.

A grain the size of the moon, maybe.

Sam's giving us about as much respect as we deserve. Sometimes the truth hurts.

Once again, please knock it off.

If you have any futher beefs with this issue, with me, or with any of the other moderators, take them up with Bonz via PM as she has already ruled on your issues.

Because the next time you take this thread off-topic and continue your disruption of this forum with more of your seemingly endless complaints, it will be a warning.

You are intentionally trying to get this thread closed, and I'm not playing any more of your games.

Once again, I don't want to see any more of your complaints in this, or any other thread, nor will I stand for any further disruptions of this forum.

Ok...getting back on track....
What happened with news photos and information by insiders?
And about shooting, did it stop because of the strike?
Please, tell me some news.
I want to inform my friends in Brazil.

Et tu, sturmde?

I thought we were pals.

I'm sorry that some of your threads got closed (happens to me all the time), but it is unfortunate that some of your frustration at the moderators has spilled over in my direction.

What's sad is someone has the time on his or her hands to write something like this.

I wrote it to entertain people like you, you ungrateful bastard! Everybody's a critic.

And what have you done for me lately?

Mods: As self-appointed legal representative of the Sourpuss Brigade, I move that we close this thread (assuming that they have already found some other safe haven to gather, whine, and complain). I request a continuance so we can discuss this all over again in the next humorous thread I start which, based on my current mood, won't be anytime soon. ;)

^ Okey Dokey. You're the thread starter. You can have it closed if you like. :(

Closing per the thread-starter's request.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to let everyone know that this thread is, was, and continues to be, a parody. I want to especially apologize to sturmde and others who obviously suffered damages (directly, consequentially, or otherwise). There is pretty much no way that anyone could have ever figured it out on their own, so my coming clean was the only acceptable solution.

My actions were inexcusable.

That, and I figured with the teaser trailer coming out tomorrow night, I would be exposed for the lying, thieving bastard that I am. In short, I have nowhere left to hide. I got nowhere else to go.

I suppose that there is still a chance that the movie will be cancelled, and if that happens, I will claim full credit for having known all along. I told you so. I called it.

In the meantime, I want to thank everyone who derailed my thread (and generally tried to put a stop to me being me) for your insightful (or should that read "inciteful"?) and welcome contributions to this thread. I couldn't have done it without you. Like most Oscar winners, I want to thank all the little people.

A special "thank you" goes to PKTrekGirl, who was kind enough to re-open this thread at my request. I think both I -- and most especially this thread -- have suffered for long enough. This thread has paid its dues. It's not going to commit this kind of offense ever again. TrekBBS parody thread recidivism rates are at an all time low, if that will help you sleep better tonight.

And since I am in an apologizing mood, I want to say that I am sorry for saying that all of the Jews like J.J. Abrams are responsible for all the wars in the world (and also for Star Trek V).

And finally, I am most certainly NOT sorry for calling PKTrekGirl "sugartits." I meant what I said, and I would say it again in a heartbeat. (Especially if she asks nicely.)

Carry on...
