I can't blame Abrams for being pissed. If I was directing the movie and had to go through threads consisting of:

(1) Don't touch anything!!!
(2) It has vectoring Nacelles that defy any kind of logic
(3) It has flapping winged Nacelles
(4) Spock eats brains in the film (ok, that is mine)
(5) Ellison is going to sue him for using the Krispy Kreme Guardian of Glazed Forever
(6) Technology in the 23rd century may not be represented by anything made after 1968
(7) Don't re-cast. Use CGI to re-make the actors ala Beowulf, and string together Bones and Scotty's parts from existing audio
(8) Every main character has to be a manly man or a fantastic rainbow!
(9) It's a reboot! Blasphemy / It's a reboot, hurrah?
(10) Whatever he does it will violate canon. So he's a witch! Burn him!

Well I think I would been in a tower somewhere near a Star Trek convention with a high powered rifle...

Guys, guys...

It's a quick thing to learn around here... that certain people are here primarily as stand-up comics.

Basically, you should learn to accept that anything being posted in the Trek 11 forum needs to be taken with a SLAB of salt right now.

Evidently several folks read the headline of this thread and took it seriously? I knew better, because of who was posting it. And honestly, I got a laugh out of reading the initial post.

To those who are upset... please, realize that this is JUST ENTERTAINMENT. Yes, some of us treat it like it's a Religion(tm), but it's not. You can't deduct your Master Replicas Enterprise model on your taxes as an "item of worship" no matter how much you might want to.

As a group, we all take this particular form of entertainment more seriously than others, because we've all invested some portion of our psychological history in it. But, c'mon... NOBODY should be taking it as seriously as some of you guys seem to be doing.

Don't become the guy who Shatner told, all those years ago, to "move out of your parents' basement, kiss a girl, GET A LIFE."

These threads are all in fun. Anyone who reads the first post can see that. If you scan that first post and don't wanna read further... STOP READING.

But please, stop bitching about it.
