Star Trek XI Back in IMAX for 1 Week

Just got an email from AMC that Star Trek, along with Inception and Fast Five, will be back in IMAX, from Sept. 30 - Oct. 6. Pretty random if you ask me. A lot of AMC IMAX theatres are the full IMAX since they're mainly converted screens (and thus smaller than big IMAX), but I just checked the closest full IMAX to me and it's showing it as well.

I saw it a bunch of times in IMAX so I don't see the need to go again. Here's the details regardless:

As much as I would like to see it in IMAX, I don't really have the time. That, and our local IMAX theater wants $18.00 for it.

I went to see the film in IMAX when it came out and it was a waste of time - the screen is so large that you have to sit a long way back to see it all. You actually get a screen that is visually about as large as a normal cinema screen looks if you sit in the front third of a normal cinema, and at that distance you only get a marginal improvement in picture quality.

When the IMAX totals are out in a week or two, someone let me know how much it made. I haven't seen and totals yet anywhere (BO Mojo, The Numbers, etc).

The only showtime in my area was at 4pm. They were playing Inception on the same screen at 7pm.

I wouldn't expect a huge B.O. tally.

I wouldn't think so either normally, but on certain sites where the news came out, I saw a lot of people posting they would see it. Maybe it'll surprise me.

Just saw this in IMAX. That and the great sound system totally blew me away. THIS is the way this movie should be seen. Glad I did it.....I highly recommend it!

Sadly the one night it played at 10pm around here I was busy, and every other screening was too early in the day (one per day, different time each day) Alas, I'll just have to whip out the blu-ray again
