Star Trek/X-men MOVIE

Would anyone like to see a live action Star Trek/X-Men movie? I thought that it was one of the best Trek comics EVER. IMHO, it may be among the top Trek stories of all time.
Any thoughts?

I enjoyed that comic alot more than I should have. I thought it was a cool twist combing Proteus and Gary Mitchell. I don't think the STTNG:Xmen was as good, but the first entry is a classic.

Some time back I even heard about a Trek/Pokemon crossover aswell as a Trek/PowerRangers crossover. Silly, silly people...

I'm aware of the comics.

But that anyone would give serious consideration to a movie adaptation?

What. The. Fuck.

I actually have the comic. Unlike the OP, I thought it was awful. And I was an idiot teenager at the time I first read it.

Basic summary: well... it has something to do with Proteus merging with Gary Mitchell, and they join forces with Deathbird (the Shi'ar chick) to threaten the universe, and Kirk must join forces with the X-Men to stop the freakishness. I don't even remember how it ends. There was another one with the TNG crew, set in the gap after First Contact. I don't remember anything more about that one.

Maybe a crossover could work, but Trek and the X-Men are from such vastly different perspectives, it just feels wrong.

To provide a serious response to the question I don't really think that people would take a crossover movie like Star Trek/X-Men seriously. Not unless you came up with a really interesting plot and it was well written and that's saying alot under the cirucumstance of the franchises involved. Not to mention that such a project would be difficult to cast...you'd have to select which characters to use from each franchise.

I barely took a glance at the comics when they came out. Weren't there actually two sets of these one dealing with the original crew and one with Next Gen?

The obvious intersection of X-Men and Star Trek is that the X-Men are metahumans who apparently are illegal in the Star Trek universe. At the very least, any degree of genetic alteration is unacceptable to the Trek folks...even if it's unintentional. So that's something to build a story on.

That sounds way too generic to really make use of either franchise. I'm not interested in X and Y fight bad guys. We need something that justifies why Star Trek and why X-Men in particular? Hopefully more than just, they have superpowers and/or phasers and the fights would be really kewl.

Mutants aren't genetically altered though...they're born with the mutant x-gene which is a natural genetic occurance within their overall physiological structure. Sensor scans with a tri-corder or medical tricorder would confirm that. I think that the X-Men and mutant community would be accepted as a genetic offshoot of the human race from another reality.

I like the idea of Khan and Magneto teaming up with each other...it would be interesting to see what kind of damage they would be able to do. The Brotherhood of Superhuman Mutants!
