Star Trek with Musical Numbers.

So what would you guys think if there was a Star Trek episode/movie or if any previous movies had musical numbers in them?

And I mean Broadway, Muppets and Disney style musical numbers with Mel Brooks vibes to them. The cutesy, family friendly type that waters down or destroys what defines Star Trek. Dumbing it down so that small children can understand it.

Imagine the bridge crew suddenly breaking into song and dance during a critical situationa nd their ship manages to get out of it without their help. Same for the engine room without it somehow going critical.

Imagine the Enterprise Leaving Earth and the Crew stop what they're doing and sing and dance to a space version of this song:

We almost got this on a weekly basis on Enterprise, where UPN wanted there to be a ship-board boy band who would break out into a musical number in every episode. Brannon Braga was vehemently against this and outright refused to even consider it. UPN retaliated by dramatically slashing the show's budget.

They should do it. Time to start being more experimental. If want you can even say Q did it. This would be perfect for the Pike show due to its stand alone nature and we have already seen Spock and Number One sing on Short Treks. Jason

I would pay for that. Well...not nautical themed songs or crap like that.
But original songs (or just covers of pop/rock/etc)...oh hell yes. Liek that weird Cop Rock show I read about on the internet...only in spaaaaaace.
Though it's my opinion that, in a perfect world, *every* show should at least have one episode where the characters sing for no apparent reason.

So there's this consensus going...

(fast forward a few seconds to 0:19 if the background banshee wailing becomes too much....)
